I found this to be the best deal on a self-excited Delco style alternator. Works excellent, I would recommend this and will order more when needed.

Did not charge with a 1 wire hookup. Farmall H tractor. The guy at ____ auto electric said that an old tractor does not have enough rpm's to make a140 amp self excite. He gave me a diagram for hookup and it works. The tractor charges 14 volts, and runs my 150 amp winch and still doesn't fall below 13.5 volts.

Installed the exact same way I've installed countless other GM alternators. Took the jeep out and about 3 hours into the trip, noticed the voltage starting to fall, slowly but steadily. Within 2 hours the system voltage had failed to 11.7V. Decided to call it a night and head back to the trailer. When I was unloading the jeep this morning, the alternator was putting out 16-17volts.Long story short, it took the regulator about 2 hours of run time to stop working properly.

I bought knowing it did fit my vehicle even though description said it doesn't fit your vehicle. Not everyone knows this they could have spent more money on a different alternator with less power because of that

This alternator is a very nice upgrade from stock charging dual battery setup very well with power to spare for the money in it hard to beat under a hundred dollars. John G
