This chuck is handy for chucking up a regular bit in an SDS drill, especially larger than 1” paddle bits. The chuck is probably medium duty, and I only use it in drill mode (no hammer). The keyless lock works well and it’s easy to get it tight by hand. It does require some assembly, but it’s easy just note the screw is reverse threaded. It’s a little wobbly and maybe just a touch off center, but it works well enough for my needs.

PROS: Makes it easy to use up to 1/2" regular drill bits and screw driver bits. Works well and holds bits solidly. (not for use in hammer mode, be sure to set hammer drill for DRILL only mode or you will break bits and have stuff loosen up)CONS: Does not have a smooth quiet well machined feel to it but what do you expect at this price point?Summary: for the price it is the perfect addition for any hammer drill kit so you can use it in a pinch to get more work done without having to go back to the shop to get a regular drill if you forgot it. :)

This is a good SDS+ chuck at a very good price. The chuck comes disassembled and with no instructions, but it's easy to put together; just thread the chuck onto the shank, tighten it, then install the left hand threaded screw through the base of the chuck into the end of the shank. The fit and finish is good and it opens and closes smoothly. The chuck clicks and locks when it's tight so there's no guess work. This is especially handy if you use a lot of Tapcon screws as you can use the drill bit that comes in the screw package instead of stocking SDS bits and tossing the supplied bits aside.I've overheated standard 1/2" hammer drills when using them to install a lot of Tapcons at one time, while an SDS drill will do it all day. It'll save wear and tear on the smaller drill while saving the cost of having to purchase SDS bits. I call that a win win.

Use this adapter to convert an sds hammer/drill to use standard drill bits. This is very useful in a pinch when you just don't have the right size sds drill bit and don't need to hammer drill a hole.

The perfect way to get dual use from your rotary hammer drill. This seems to be well made and sturdy enough for most medium duty uses.Good fit in both my SDS Plus Hilti and Dewalt rotary hammer drillsOnly carrying your rotary hammer drill with you and find yourself needing to use a regular drill bit? This is for you.I think this is a great addition to your hammer drill accessories.Good deal for this. Glad I got it.

All metal, except for the plastic red ring that shows the chuck size- 1/2". You get three parts in the box: the chuck, the shaft, and the reverse-thread lock screw. You will need a 17mm wrench for the shaft and a 19mm wrench for the chuck to torque them together then just use a #2 Philips driver to install the locking screw. It snapped right into my DeWalt rotary hammer with no issues.

Looks and feels heavy duty, but did not stand up to use on my hammer drill. The rear grip area, which is press fit onto a splined area of the shaft, fell right off after *one* hole in concrete using hammer action. I also had a tough time getting it tight enough to hold my round-shank masonry bit without slipping.

This was a great way to convert my SDS plus drill into a normal drill that can hold bit adapters or normal drill bits.It has great build quality and holds very tightly. It locks very well for a hand tightening keyless truck. There seems to be little to no wobble. Great value for the money.
