There's not much that can be said about a hex adapter, except whether or not the hex retention is good. These do have good hex retention, yet are easily changed out. You pull down on the outer sleeve, just like you do for a quick-connect air fitting. Even if your hex bit lacks the detent slot, just the pressure of the ball against the side is enough to provide reasonable retention.
