New construction on our home and we needed handrails per code on our staircases. We added these opposite our staircase railing so that it didn't take away from the look of the railing. We have black fixtures in the home. These match and added an industrial look to the staircase. Love how they turned out. Sturdy and stylish. Highly recommend.

Easy to install very affordable

This is a strong handrail, easy to assemble and, depending upon your application, its not complicated to install, but it is pretty utilitarian and industrial in appearance, good if that's the look you are going for. The pipe fittings seem much like the threaded pipe fittings that I'm used to, but the pipe is thinner than traditional black pipe for plumbing, this is more like EMT steel conduit. Strong, but not as thick and heavy. The black powder coat finish looks nice and doesn't seem greasy at all, which is nice because a lot of this industrial stuff comes slathered in grease. The finish isn't perfect though, there were some small chips I noticed immediately after opening, one section of pipe had a small dimple too, hard to see but you feel it each time you use it. I've seen a lot of similar kits available, and it is nice to be able to order a set that includes all the parts you need all in one kit. I ordered the 6' kit, and although the pipe centers do not land exactly on 32" for stud layout (more like 34") with the flanges positioned just right, you can still capture studs on layout if you align it perfectly. This is not an issue if you are mounting to a solid wall though, like concrete, or areas that are fully studded or plywood. Because of this, this kit is more ideal for predictable horizontal sections, or solid wall structures. They provide screws and basic anchors with the kit, these anchors would work for concrete walls, but not so much for drywall, but you'll want each flange to be mounted to something solid, not just drywall. Over all, I consider this a valid option if this is the style handrail you are looking for.

This was a perfect fit for the stairs down to my basement. I wanted something to make them safer since they're was no railing on the narrow staircase even we moved in. The directions are minimal so just make sure you are attaching into studs on at least the top and bottom attachment points. It's solid and makes me happy to know kids and older adults can now use my stairs more safely.
