This set of 10 reeds came individually cased in hard plastic sleeves. They appear to be made out of bamboo, and some were kind of rough looking. One had a greyish patch and I would not let my son use that one.I myself know nothing about reeds, so I left it to my son to review them. He is a second-year band student who plays clarinet. He switched out his old reed after testing it to make sure it was playing ok, which it was. He popped the new reed in, and then was unable to get even the slightest squeak from his instrument. He wet it, took it out, put it back in, and tried a different reed, but had the same result each time- no sound. He put the old one back in and was able to play as usual. The new ones are a touch longer than the ones he had already, so maybe that was why.So, overall, I'm not happy with these reeds. I don't know why they won't work, but they don't. I would not order them again.

This box is inexpensive, yet includes ten (10) quality Clarinet reeds. The reeds work great and this is a great price, especially if you have a beginner!

These reeds work well with my clarinet, I haven't had any issues or squeaks with them and like using them.Would get these again.
