The mechanisms performs well. The cleat protectors do not fit well. One split on the side with the adjustment screws. The same one fell off while riding. So I stopped and put it in my jersey pocket. Later I used super glue to re-attach the protector to the cleat.

These are cleats for Zero type and compatible pedals. They appear to be exact copies of the originals, and have stamped steel plates like the originals instead of the problematic cast alloy plates some theoretically compatible cleats have. The springs have about the same give as the originals, too. It should be noted that these are replacement cleats, and not the complete cleat system. They come with the four screw bases, the screws (with pre-applied thread locker), and the cleat covers. They do NOT come with the 3 hole to 4 hole adapters of the original factory cleat system. These make economical replacements if you don’t need the 3 to 4 hole adapters, in other words if you’ve broken a spring or bent a plate, but wouldn’t work for backup shoes unless you sourced the adapters somewhere else.

They work just OK. Stamped sheet metal spring-clip retainer covered by rubber walking soles that seemed a good idea. The rubber lasted one ride and I have no idea where I lost one of them, just that it wasn't there later. Probably came off along the road while fighting to clip in after a traffic light or something. I've been using Speedplays for many years and have always liked the rotational freedom while still being easy to click in and out. These, not so much. I ended up taking them apart after the first ride to dull the edge of the spring clip to allow easier entry, otherwise, very difficult to click in. Regret the purchase and should have stayed with something of better quality.
