Paar Schuhe nutzen.

First off, I should state emphatically that these “YOBOKO Cleats for Cycling Shoes Bike Cleats Compatible Shimano Cleats for SPD-SL System” are NOT cleats for the SHIMANO SPD-SL SYSTEM! SPD-SL cleats are 3-bolt plastic cleats for use on road bikes. These YOBOKO cleats, under review here, are 2-bolt metal cleats for use on mountain bikes principally, though some people use them on road bikes, because they are easier to walk in when not mounted on the bike. You need specific types of cycling shoes in order to use the 2 different sorts of cleats: SPD & SPD-SL; they are definitely not interchangeable on the same pair of shoes (nor in the same pedals).Having got that matter out of the way, what do I think of the YOBOKO SPD, type SM-SH56, (not SPD-SL) cleats which I received? I am delighted with them! They do the job I wanted excellently well, though I have yet to determine in the long term, whether will remain so in long-term use (i.e., whether they will wear well, lasting a long time in service). I needed them because the last SPD cleats I got, marketed on this same platform by a different seller, had been a distinct disappointment. In my photos, you will see one of those unsatisfactory SPD cleats on the left-hand shoe, as viewed in the photo looking towards the toe, & the YOBOKO SPD cleat on the right. Both cleats started their working lives as black-painted cleats (I don’t know why they bother) but the paint wears off them quickly; the older cleats have been used for perhaps a dozen journeys of about 8 miles round trip to do some shopping, so have been walked upon some distance as well; the new YOBOKO cleats have been in use for only about half a dozen forays down & back up our drive with a couple of very short walks (maybe 20 paces). When I 1st got the unsatisfactory cleats, I found I suffered great difficulty getting them to cleat into the pedals, or to uncleat when I needed to put my feet on the ground. I needed them to function properly quickly so I could use the bike, so, instead of sending them back, having determined that the projecting bar at the back of the cleat was too long & not correctly chamfered, I ground off the excess & now the cleats function reasonably well. However (& you will see what I mean in my photos) another fault with those cleats is that the fixing bolts sit too high out of the cleats, so are the first point of contact with the ground when you walk on them; that has resulted in the outside edge of the bolts wearing excessively, very quickly, already making it hard to get the Allen (hex) key into them to take them off again. They now sit a little lower, because I milled a little depth off the dual washer through which the bolts go to secure the cleats onto the shoe. However, I urgently needed new, & correct fitting, SPD cleats to replace them before wear of the bolt heads prevented me unscrewing them from my expensive cycling shoes, themselves nearly new.So, that is why I ordered these YOBOKO SPD Cleats for Cycling Shoes. I could see from the advertising pictures in the Amazon listing that these were clearly SPD cleats, not SPD-SL. I do not even use SPD-SL cleats on my road bikes – I use Look Keo 3-bolt road cleats. I use SPD cleats on my shopping (& winter cycling training) bike: it having mudguards makes it more suitable for wet conditions. You will see in my photos that the bolts of the YOBOKO SPD Cleats do not project out beyond the lower surface of the cleat, so should be shielded from premature wear, & the back end of the cleat is chamfered. Indeed, the SM-SH56 style of SPD cleat is even easier to cleat & uncleat than the SPD type SH51, also offered in the same listing by YOBOKO..Good cleats, good price, happy! I have nevertheless reduced the star score I awarded to 4, on account of the sellers mis-advertising.

This is a very good quality set of SPD cleats that fitted onto my Shimano shoes instantly. They click into and out of my pedals very easily. The pack comes with an hex key for fastening the bolts to the shoes, so that was a nice litte bonus. This is a very decent set of cleats at a very attractive price.

The cleats pictured in what appear to be the item images are not what I received, so knocking off a star due to the sloppy listing. The good news is that the cleats received (in my case the "51" single release models) are actually a more direct clone of the Shimano cleats than the ones in the picture (which seem to resemble some Wellgo brand cleats I've come across). Not sure if this seller made a running change in their product, or if they are worried about advertising a product that is a little "too good" of a clone of the Shimanos, so are using a more generic photo and then overdelivering. Either way, these are every bit as good as the genuine Shimano ones I've been using, and at a price that is about 45% less than the genuine article, I'd say they're a super strong value!

I needed some extra SPD cleats with my new shoes to use on my indoor trainer. These were easy to install and adjust and have been working fine. Click in and click out when I want but not when I don't.

I was long overdue to replace my cleats, and these were a perfect replacement. They appear to be exact clones of OEM shimano cleats. The steel feels to have high quality from the engagement of the supplied wrench and also my torque wrench. The supplied bolts aren't made from soft steel, I've had plenty of cheap knock offs that I've stripped or nearly stripped the bolts when doing my initial torquing, but not these, these are great. It's refreshing to have nice new cleats again! I won't wait years next time!

Basically identical to shimano. the release is slightly less positive than a brand new shimano but I don't think most riders would notice the difference and it should disappear with wear. it's possible the steel is lower quality but I have no way to test this and the difference would be meaningless for most buyers.

I was hesitant about these 3rd party cleats, but have been pleasantly surprised. They clip in and out just like the OEM ones do, they are indistinguishable side by side and the weight feels very similar in hand. I didn’t bother to put them on the scale. Cones complete to set them up and even includes an Allen key.

Shimano SPD cleats are reasonable inexpensive so these cleats are about the same. They come with all the required components such as the cleat itself, screws and brackets to hold the screws. What this kit is lacking though, and is typical of Shimano cleats, is a spacer that is used in case your shoes have thick soles. There are typically spacers for Crankworks pedals but not for Shimano for some reason. I find that the Crankworks pedals are more adjustable in that way. As for thess cleats though, they are good replacements.

My cleats were getting quite worn and becoming less reliable. I ride recumbent bikes, a couple of them are Cruzbikes where pedals turn along with the front wheel so being cleated in is key to avoiding "pedal steer" but it also means your feet are out in front of you, not under you so being able to get out of the pedals when needed is also very important. These cleats were easy to put on in place of my old cleats and hold well when my foot is aligned but are easy to disconnect when needed. Very pleased.

so far so good.they installed cleanly, and appear to latch/unlatch as expected.Obviously I can't comment on longevity, but they appear to be made of quality material and the machining is accurate. I have good expectations.
