This well charge your HT in few hours. Using a standard cell phone charger takes awhile. I recommend a 4amp charger for a faster charge rate.

It charges my radio as described. No complain at all. As a matter of face, just bought another spare.

Other than it not being able to charge FT-60R as I already know it wouldn't, this is a handy little thing to be spliced out to run low current 12V gadgets on USB. For what it does I'm very happy.Edit: side note, it will operate the charging cradle just fine. So if you have a solar panel that puts out 5V or a phone charger that puts out 5V around 2.1-2.4A minimum it might be worth thinking about as a charger cradle companion

It seemed a little finicky at first. I checked with my voltmeter to see if it was putting out 0.4 - 1.0 A. I couldn't get a reading. attached it to a 20A battery charger with 5v out. The Yaesu showed charging and went from 7.4 to 8.4 V in about 3 hrs. It shows a YAESU name tag but don't know if it is a yaesu product?

It didn't seem to charge my FT-270 past about 6.7 volts, but it could have been the battery. It only put out about 11 volts.

It is ok but awkward to use if you need to use the radio. It won't recharge the battery.
