I got the six pack of channels to test in applications where surface mounting was not the best option. Overall, I am really pleased with these. Keep in mind these are not for surface mounting, You will need to run recesses in whatever material or structure you are mounting in. The material is a good quality aluminum. It very lightweight and has some flex to it, as expected. The cuts are rough so be careful when handling. I also think they are a little overpriced at $46 for 6 x 1m pieces. Also, as another commenter mentioned, the weak link in these LED channels will be the covers, they are quite noticeable at their joints, and you may want either to find a continuous option or avoid them altogether with uplighting - just a thought.

These aluminum channels are sturdily built and able to fit a 12mm LED light strip. They come in 1 meter length pieces and are convenient to install. The included light diffuser feels a bit flimsy but it works for the installation. Good value.

Great plaster-in LED channels. The aluminum extrusion is perfect thickness. Thick enough to be rigid and offer adequate cooling, and thin enough to be light and easy to work with. The sides are also thin enough to cover with joint compound easily, with good hole spacing for attaching to studs or joists of nearly any spacing and positioning. The opaque covers snap in and stay well with minimal effort, but can be removed without worrying about breaking them. They offer great diffusion so that LED strips with adequate density won't hot spot at nearly any intensity. The 12mm width will also fit nearly any common LED strips. My attached pictures are using an RGBWW/RGBCCT strip which has 6 conductors.

These are very sturdy - probably overkill for their purpose and the flanges are thick enough that you'll need to do a lot of feathering when you mud them in or possibly cut the paper layer off of the drywall where the flange will sit so that you can recess them a bit.The benefit of the thick aluminum construction is that these should work well to pull heat out of the LED strips inside of them, so these will work better than a more lightweight product would if you plan on using them as a primary light source or otherwise running them bright for long periods of time.I haven't had a chance to install them yet but since my strips will be longer than 1m, I'm going to try to find a roll of diffuser material that will fit these channels so that the diffuser can be cut to length without showing any seams.

For what they are, these are good. The aluminum is good; the cover feels a bit flimsy by itself, but once it is in the channel, it is rigid and won't slide around. The slightly higher positioning of the lens vs. the plaster-in parts seems right for a smooth, integrated finish. The nice thing about this approach of mounting on the room side of the drywall is that installation is a lot easier than cutting through the drywall and mounting from behind, which, given rafter beams or wall studs, will be very challenging post-drywall installation. The lens cover provides decent diffusion without negatively impacting the brightness of your LEDs too much. That said, I would still go with COB LEDs that are smaller and closer together, or at least more tightly packed SMD LEDs, so both the brightness and the smooth look of the light are what you want after the installation.Net, these are really functional, wide enough to fit a broad range of LED strip widths, and look good. That said, I have one huge question. Specifically, is a 1-meter length actually right for your project? If the space you want to light up is longer, I highly recommend getting a 2-meter or longer length and cutting it down. For double the length, you'll likely pay about 50% more. However, you will get rid of the seams, which will look a lot better and may even save money overall, as well as installation time. So, assuming 1-meter lengths are right for your project, this is the right product at a good value.

This is something I would definitely have your drywall contractor install because it does require some precision when cutting into the drywall and the plaster that gets applied to conceal the edges. Once done properly. It really looks amazing. It includes the lens cover but you will need to supply the actual light strip that goes inside. We use this exact product on a number of ceiling and wall applications and like I said if it's installed properly it really looks wonderful. It cuts easily as it's made of aluminum and very easy to work with. Make sure you stick to the recommended dimensions provided and you'll be fine.

Ordered this: YGS-Tech Plaster-in LED Channel 6-Pack 3.3FT/1M, LED Aluminum Channel with Milky Diffuser to use on a tiny home build this summer. Was thinking I would use this for some bathroom accent lighting. The channel is pretty standard stuff. 12mm size in aluminum and good quality. I have yet to install it but took it out of the package and inspected it, no dents or bends that would cause an issue. I would suggest though getting the 6 foot size if you have longer runs, the diffuser having some many pieces is more visible than a single silicone cover. I am hoping to be able to find a continuous silicone cover to replace the plastic ones in this kit. That is pretty much what comes with all of these though. If you can plan out the project these are better than surface mounting. While I have yet to mount them the dimensions indicate that this should be able to be installed over 1/2 inch drywall without being concerned about studs as the total channel depth is .47 inches with some of that being space for plaster. Will have to learn about how to install this properly.Having installed a few aluminum surface mount channels, you can really see the breaks in the diffuser every 3 feet or so, especially if you do not line up the channel segments perfectly. My apologies for not being able to fully test product before posting a review, I will update if we run into issues when installing this vs other channels.
