Forstner bit extensions solve one of the major problems with forstner Bits -- their limited depth capacity. This extension fits WoodRiver forstner bits only that have 1/2" diameter shanks.

I could not use this and sent it back because it was undersize. The hole in it for the bit is not 1/2". It seems to be a metric dimension. It seemed like it would be sturdy enough it was the correct size.

I have a 1/2" chuck for my lathe now the problem is the shank will not fit intomy 1/2" chuck. I am not satisfied.Now I have to have it turned down to use it.

This is a perfect companion to a set of heavy-duty Forstner bits... a necessary accessory for drilling long holes in, for example, lathe turning projects such as pepper grinders. It fits the hex-shank of bits from, e.g., Lee Valley, and is very well made... the bits run true and smooth when used in conjunction with the extender.
