It was easy to set up and comes with a small screwdriver, and I love that my cell phone has a place to go instead of just randomly sitting next to me. There's a notch for when I'm knitting socks, and if I have to stand up to do something (no more searching for where my needles are), the cup is perfect for holding my pencils and loose crochet hooks. The magnetism is so strong that the balls of wool basically don't fall out when I'm knitting, great design!

As a beginner with crochet, I simply don't have enough hands. This allows me to concentrate more on my crochet hook than what my skein is doing. It is very functional and easy to use. It is stable on the table I'm using, a side sofa table. It is a nice color. The price is very agreeable.

This is made of a heavy wood that remains stable even with a whole ball of yarn on it. The phone holder can handle my Samsung Galaxy Note & the cup is big enough for a couple of crochet hooks. The base has rubber feet on the bottom as well as inset screw holes, so it won't scratch up your table.I'm deducting a star because, although I like the concept of the magnetic spool connection, it's just not strong enough to keep it connected to the base when your yarn hangs up. Just a little force from a snag makes the entire spool come crashing down. Either stronger magnets are needed or replaced with a metal double eye hook connector thingy so it can be secure, yet still spin freely.

I am amazed by this product! I crochet every day so this item has made my job easier! First, it was so easy to assemble with 5 screws and a small screwdriver that are provided. The wood is sturdy and has a nice shade of mahogany. The wood is very smooth so you don't need to worry about snags. There is a little cup for holding hooks and a cell phone stand to follow a pattern on the Internet or watch something while you work. The design is just genious! There is a rod that you push through a skein of yarn then attach to a very strong magnet on the hanger. It has made my crochet speed faster because I don't need to stop to pull the yarn from the skein. No more searching for the inside yarn ends as this functions best by using the outside yarn end to start your project. The magnetic spool spins while I work with such ease. I've used three 3oz. skeins of yarn so far and no tangles or knots. This is definitely worth the money!

I was hesitant at first, being a long time knitter, used to just struggling with juggling my patterns, yarn and everything else. But this stand/holder, truly is a game changer. It is very elegant and made from natural pine wood, easy to assemble, with the yarn spool that attaches and swings easily, held in place by a magnet. I loved the details in the design, with the non slip pads on the bottom, cup accessory holder, and little tray for those things you want to be within reach. But my favorite had to be the phone holder. I loved how I could just prop it up there and watch a whole show, or look up my pattern while working. Truly a great quality item that I didn't know I needed. Functional and cute. The only thing I can think of that would improve it, would be maybe a just slightly stronger magnet to help it feel a little more secure. But even though I was a skeptic and had my doubts it never really unattached while I was working, so it's a win in my book!

I was excited to get this yarn cake/skein holder for crocheting! The great benefit of these things is not only that it helps manage your yarn so it isn't getting tangled, it helps you to maintain consistent tension in order to make more even stitches. In other words it can improve the quality of your finished project.I was looking forward to it so much that I was actively nervous about whether the magnet would really work like it needs to and that the yarn holding rod would really spin like it needs to. From looking around at similar items I could see that NOT all of them are really very good, and some of them are worthless.Happily, this thing works GREAT and I expect it to be a pleasure to use. The magnet is pleasingly strong, and the domed magnet on the top of the rod is capable of rotating inside the domed magnetic recess in the bottom of the arm. The slight friction with which it rotates is something you need for your yarn tension. It is also the right size that the vast majority of us would need. The instructions sheet mentions it is made of pine wood; it is beautifully finished and looks exactly like the pictures in the ad. It is an attractive enough object that neither you nor your (I'm assuming women are buying this) husband will mind having it in your living room. You do have to assemble it, but they provide all that you need including a mini screwdriver. Nothing difficult about it.There are remarkably many options of different yarn holders available for sale; I can definitely recommend that this is one of the good ones, especially if you want to be able to see your phone while you are crocheting or knitting.Pro-tip: get a yarn winder too.

The wood finish was terrible and cheap looking. The yarn pole would not even hold a 10 oz skein of yarn without falling. The magnets were very weak. Disappointed. Returning immediately.
