NOTE:Overstretching the tape may cause it to tear. To get a feel for maximum tension, find a ruler and stretch 10 inches of tape to 13 inches. When wrapping your bars, aim for stretching 10 inches of tape to cover 12 inches of bar wrapping.

Installation Instructions
For the smoothest feel, aim for a 25mm stagger. Increasing the overlap will provide additional cushion but will create a bumped surface.
Tools needed: scissors, mallet, marker/pen
1) Grab the end of the tape to get a sense of the strength and stretch of the tape
2) Adjust the lever body (shifter/brake hoods) close to final position
3) Use tape (not provided) to hold the brake and shifting housing to the handlebars
4) Roll back the rubber hood covers away from the handlebars
5) Beginning at the bar end, wrap bars inward, moving toward the stem.
6) Once the bar tape has been wrapped to within a desired distance to the stem, apply the self-fusing silicone tape for a finishing touch.

This bar tape is great and super comfortable. My only issue was that I believe the product I received had previously been opened and when they put it back together one of the pieces of self-sealing vinyl tape got folded in half and stuck to itself rendering it useless. I had to go spend another $10 on a roll of self-sealing vinyl tape in order to install the bar tape on my bike. Otherwise the product is awesome and I'll be buying more for my other bikes.

Super comfortable, if you rip this stuff you are either riding on your handlebars or pulling it way to tight while installing it. the directions are clear on how to install. The only downside is also what makes it so great. It’s silicone, it gets slippery when wet especially if you have sunscreen or any other type of lotion on. Probably best to wear gloves when using but I like the way it feels and it allows me to not wear gloves, especially on the trainer. This is the best bar tape I’ve ever used. They could provide double the amount of self fusing tape in the package but a whole role is only $4. If you use the self fusing tape be prepared to cut off a section of tape if you ever have to remove the tape. Makes reinstalling a little more difficult. If you are smart you have everything dialed in before wrapping your bars. The gravel world definitely got this one right. Thanks Wolftooth, love all your stuff!

Pros: noticeably more comfortable than thinner bar tape. great for gravel rides.Cons* Slippery, especially when wet.* Poor durability. Wore through the tape on the hoods on both sides in about a year of moderately heavy use.* Expensive

Thickest and best bar tape around! I used this bar tape on a 7 day, 500mi bike tour and my body didn’t absorb much of the shock. Originally put this on my gravel bike but then came home, bought another box, and quickly replaced my road bikes handle bar tape too. Easy to install, non-stick so you can reuse or fix, comfortable cushy material - think one of those standing mats that sink a little that you can get for your kitchen or desk.I highly recommend these. It will fatten up your handlebars, fyi, so depending on Bike geometry it may not work. Because it doesn’t stick, you can try to install and if it doesn’t work, roll back up in box and return.

Pretty sad that this company could not make the tape a few inches longer on each side and give a few small pieces for hood voids then i might love and recommend this to others. There is certainly not enough tape to do a figure 8 around the hoods, which is fine but still to get a good coverage wrap around the hoods and have a decent finish near the stem is next to impossible at least with my 44cm Salsa bars. This might explain why when i first got the tape there was only one roll in the package; someone probably needed just a little more so they scammed another roll and returned half the package. It is comfortable. Not sure about durability. I stretched it pretty good and did not sense any tearing so the material and design seems pretty good.

Love the added thickness this bar tape provides. Plus the dampening properties this tape provides really smoothes out rougher gravel rides.
