Usage Tips for dry drilling walls

dry drilling brick walll starting at a 15 degree angle

Start at a 15~45 degree angle to keep from walking

  • Mark the Hole: mark the hole on the wall where you intend to drill,
  • you can either create a wooden guide to help stabilize the drill bit, minimizing bounce and ensuring accurate drilling,
  • or use our other shorter diamond drill bits listed below to predrill a circle first

Transit the bit to a vertical angle to continue

  • Wear appropriate equipment to cover your eyes nose mouth and ears from dust.
  • Apply steady, even pressure on the drill and pause occasionally to let the bit cool down and clear out the dust and debristo avoid overheat or breakage.

Usage Tips for wet drilling ground or floor

wet drilling concrete floor with diamond core drill bit

Start at an angle to avoid bit walking or bouncing

  • Mark the Hole, and position the drill bit on the marked spot at a 15~45 degree angle.
  • Start drilling at a low speed to ensure accuracy. Once the bit starts cutting into the ground, you can increase the speed.

Bring the bit to vertical position to drill deeper

  • Set Up a Water Supply to cool the drill bit and reduce dust
  • If possible, use a drill stand or guide to keep the drill bit stable and ensure a straight hole.
  • Apply steady pressure to the drill. Avoid pushing too hard, which can cause overheating and damage to the drill bit.

This 51mm Wet Diamond Core Drill Bit is an excellent tool for heavy-duty drilling tasks. With a 400mm (15-3/4") drilling depth and a 1-1/4"-7 female thread, it's perfect for concrete with rebar, masonry, stone, brick, and block. The diamond-coated tip ensures efficient and precise cuts, even in tough materials, while the wet drilling capability minimizes dust and heat for a smoother experience. I ordered this to drill through some cinderblock for some drain holes. This is much more stout than I expected. For the price I think it’s a good value compared to other core drill bits out there.

This 51mm wet diamond core drill bit offers decent performance for concrete and masonry projects, but requires careful compatibility checking. The 400mm drilling depth is impressive, making it suitable for substantial drilling tasks.Pros:• Substantial 400mm drilling depth• Wet drilling capability• Versatile for concrete, masonry, and stone• 1-1/4”-7 female thread standardCons:• Requires precise drill compatibility verification• Performance varies based on drill power• Notable wear with useBefore purchasing, critically check your drill’s specifications to ensure proper thread and power compatibility. The 1-1/4”-7 female thread is standard, but not universal. My drill was not powerful enough to use on the projects I was hoping with this bit.It is a workable core drill bit for DIY enthusiasts and professionals who need moderate drilling capabilities. Not exceptional, but reliable with proper preparation and matching equipment.

I’ve got a whole collection of these started now, I thought about just buying the whole kit, but didn’t really see the need to drop 200 bucks or so. They are decent quality, and they will do the trick. I like to use a good drill w these sometimes instead of the grinder, but then you gotta make sure to have the 5/8 adapter to fit the drill. Sometimes that adaptor will lock on there like you won’t believe, be advised. Here’s how I’d do a cutout, if you don’t already know how:Mark your center of your circle, grab a bucket of water and a sponge, Slap your new toy on the Milwaukee M18, and the trick is to start your cut at angles instead of trying to dig straight through. Dip the edge into the material. Practice on a scrap piece.Practice on a scrap piece.Just hold your tool at a slight angle, and I mean HOLD THAT SUMMABICH. That’s a scrap piece you’ve got right? Hold that drill like you hold that big slippery bass when he’s flipping and flapping bc that’s what that drill is gonna want to do you get going. Get one side started then get it rotated over to the other side and rock it gently til you’ve got a guide cut out in your material…it’s gonna wanna walk no matter what, so do these cuts after the homeowner is out for groceries. If you use Ryobi drills that’s ok but first go ahead and grab another scrap piece for practice bc you will crack a tile/stone eventually. When I need to make a 4 inch cut out in marble for the shower valves

Very big and look to be well made but i must of got the wrong size because the inside it is 1 and 1/4 inch wide, meaning you need a very big center drill bit adaptor.
