I’d used this same model at the barn where I ride and liked the feel. It’s light, and the shape of the grip prevents it from slipping from my hand. I’m very happy with it, and glad I added it to my own kit. Now I have mine to use whenever I like!

Long and easy to reach hindquarters of the horse while riding. Also great reach down the shoulder!

I left my favorite riding whip on the wheel well of the horse trailer at a show when I drove off, and so I've been looking for a replacement. The first one I got was quite long and felt awkward to ride with, so I found this shorter one. The length is pretty good (it would be great for a young or shorter person on a pony or small horse), though it's a little shorter than I like (my horse and I are both fairly tall). The whip is lightweight, but still stiff/sturdy. I'd personally like a little more substance, but the whip suits my purposes for schooling, and I've been using it as my primary whip since I got it. It's inexpensive, but still appears to be pretty good quality. (But I'm still on the lookout for the perfect replacement.)

Unfortunately, I live in an area where a lot of people aren’t very conscientious about keeping their unsocialized dogs contained on their property. I’ve been bitten once and nearly bitten twice more, and was only saved by my Halt dog spray. Animal control forced the owner to give up the biting dog because I was not the first person that it had bitten, but the other one is still around. The pepper spray does work, but on windy days it’s not always going to work. So I got this as a last line of defense to help deter the dogs. it’s light enough that it’s not a big deal to carry around on a walk.

This whip has a surprising bite to it. Light weight and effective the only drawback is it’s length- it’s a bit long for close quarters. Makes a nice swishy whip sound for added terror and anticipation. My review is not based on the whip’s use on horses.

Nice and swishy, I think it was a great value. But I don't ride dressage, I needed it mostly to shoo off my horse's pushy roommate.I wish it had a wrist loop but I've been informed that dressage whips never have wrist loops so you can switch them from hand to hand.

I ended up returning a very expensive Dressage whip, and this whip was light, well balanced not to thick to hold with reins. I'm older, I have found heavy, thick handled whips are not easily held for me. I recommend this whip
