Purchased the food slicer for my son for Christmas. He told me he loves it. Works very well and easy to use.

Loved the choice of thickness cut! Very easy to adjust.Cut different meats and cheeses for my snack trays perfectly.Only problem was my thickness for very old cheddar cheese, too thin and it crumbled! My fault!Loved this machine, saved so much time, and my slices were all uniform!

This is an ok slicer. My only complait is that if you press hard on the meat that you are slicing, the dept control will move therefore changing the thickness of your slice. You have to be careful not to put too much pressure against the fence. I wish there was a way to lock it in place.

This is the type of tool you want to give some thought to whether you will use it frequently enough to justify the cost, as well as have adequate and convenient storage space for it. My husband and I made the decision we did and are very happy with this purchase. The slicer itself is easy to operate. Although some folks suggest in the reviews that it is difficult to clean, it is not. You have to expect to sanitize any machine that can slice meat and this slicer is very easy to clean and very few little nooks or crannies to pay attention to. As far as slicing capacity, we can slice very thin. We brined 10 pounds of brisket into corned beef for St. Patrick's Day and quickly and efficiently sliced the majority very thin using this slicer. Worked great. Definitely recommend for the price and quality.

I've had this meat slicer since 2002. That's twenty years and never had a problem with it.

This is at best a hobby kitchen appliance. Unbalanced weight and mostly plastic, it is hard to pull apart for cleaning, except where the actual blade comes off.Important to note: There doesn't seem to be a safety control to ensure it starts and stops cutting when you want it to. It would be better if there was a secondary button to trigger the blade to spin - my old, cheap one had that and it performed just as well. (ie: This may be a quirk of mine, but the blade doesn't start right after pressing the power button. I flip the power on and find other things to do on the same counter while I wait to hear the blade start turning.)It looks metal, but is in reality about 80% plastic. Once it starts, it works well enough on cooked or thick cuts, but thin cuts are poorly finished and the tray does not slide in a way that finishes a cut cleanly. In my amateur opinion, this cutter is a pass.

The meat tray will slip and bind. The only way to make it work is to raise up on the meat tray when pulling it back. ALWAYS look for others ratings before selecting anything.

I would give this THING one star, except it works, but, is frustrating. I've had it for about a year. You can take parts of it .. apart for cleaning - but - cannot take the sliding tray off for cleaning, and more. The Sliding tray the meat sits on sticks like crazy. I've tried lubricating it with veggie oil, pam spray, olive oil - everything except 3 in 1 oil .. or other types of OILs ..If I could - I'd throw it THROUGH my window. But. that would be more expensive than just throwing it away and getting a different brand.Watch out though. This looks like the same as the Cuisenart and a few others.BUYERS BEWARE

It sounds like a great idea. Buy a home food slicer so you can do your own deli meats at half the price. This isn't the machine for that. In fact, this isn't the machine for much of anything. At the deli they have high rpm slicers with strong motors and keen blades. This machine has a tiny cheap motor that they warn you not to use for more than a couple of minutes,(and you will know when the its time to turn it off by the distinct aroma of overheated electrical equipment) and it turns very slowly. The blade is serrated. Like a saw, Which makes it impossible to sharpen, and like a saw, it produces sawdust... tiny slivers of wasted meat. The wastage isn't the problem, its a relatively small amount, but it gets everywhere, behind the blade and into the gears, in all the nooks and crannies of the machine, and there are a lot of them. When the blade gets a little dull, which is pretty quickly, it will cause the motor to quickly bog down. This has two effects, the aforementioned aroma of smoke, and the grinding of the cheap nylon gears of the machine. That of course wears out the gears at an amazing rate, which causes it to happen more often, which wears out the gears...etc.Stainless steel...the only parts on line that appear stainless are the blade and the bar that the plastic carrier slides on. The rest is painted, and mostly plastic. Warning - don't clean the metal appearing parts with a scrubbing dish sponge, its only light paint and you will wreck the appearance in about 3 seconds. This thing is very light, a side effect of it's shoddy construction, which seems great until you realize that actually attempting to slice meat with it causes the entire machine to slide down the counter.Use: It SLIDES. You need to block it against an unyielding object. It is slow. It cuts ham reasonably well, but all other meats need to be chilled firm before it will do even a halfway decent job. Attempting to cut something warm and or soft is ineffective and makes a huge mess.
