About this item

  • This Photocell sensor installs into a WAC Landscape Lighting power supply and automatically turns the system on at dusk and off at dawn.
  • Photocell sensors are available in plug-in (SKU # 9000-PCH-GY) connecting directly on the power supply and remote (SKU # 9000-PCR-GY) with a 10ft cable that extends placement of the photocell sensor up to 10ft away from the power supply when the power supply is installed in an area that does not receive direct sunlight.
  • WAC Landscape Lighting power supplies are manufactured in 75W (SKU # 9075-TRN-SS), 150W (SKU # 9150-TRN-SS), 300W (SKU # 9300-TRN-SS), and 600W (SKU # 9600-TRN-SS) sizes.
  • Simple plug-and-play for quick and easy installation.
  • WAC Landscape Lighting power supplies support additional plug-and-play accessories sold separately such as a photocell (SKU # 9000-PCH-GY or 9000-PCR-GY) that turns the system on at dusk and off at dawn or a mechanical timer (SKU # 9000-MTI-WT) that allows you to control when the system turns on and off.
  • Standards: UL & cUL 1838 and IP65 Rated for Wet Locations.

A photocell allows the user to Supply power to a WAC landscape lighting power Supply during the evening in the absence of UV sunlight. The photocell plugs into the outside of a WAC landscape lighting magnetic power Supply case, and provides voltage to the unit in the absence of sunlight while blocking voltage during the day. Use a remote photocell (9000-pcr-gy) with wire when the power Supply is installed in an area that does not receive any direct sunlight.

This is the second purchase for us of this timer. We are using them to replace our original lighting ones which started to fail. This timer is accurate, and affordable. We highly recommend.

Mine died after 5 years. Also, the clear lens became extremely yellow and cloudy after only a couple of years. One would think that something designed to detect sunlight wouldn't succumb to UV degradation in such a short time. WAC products aren't cheap, which is okay, but they need to deliver on quality.

The quality seems very rugged, capable of withstanding the elements. It's a direct plug into my low-voltage transformer, and fit the knockout perfectly. Installation took less than five minutes.

Sometimes it's better not having a "smart" device that needs a WiFi connection. As long as there is power, this device doesn't fail, unlike some of my other WiFi reliant timers. Set it and forget it.

These timers are awesome for when you aren’t home and want to set them for a time for the to turn on lamps.

I use it to turn on and off the 12 Volt transformer for landscape lights. It is easy to set and has been reliable so far.
