I really love these for alot of reasons. First, they clearly mark positive and negative (red wire/black wire..duh). They have a built in resistor so if you are running 9-12vdc, zero issue. Easily tested on a 9v battery. The light is amazing with a clear plastic housing (square) with a cylindrical tip. That makes it easy to fit in a hole if needed. I have purchased at least 40 of these for my N scale layout.

I use these on my HO model railroad locomotives. Most have a 2mm diameter lense. I remove it and insert the LED direct.
