Bought to replace an NX shifter.New GX shifter either doesn't go through all 12 speeds or when it does, it misses the release on some. I think the inner tension is messed up.Ended up putting the old NX shifter back on. Bummed.Update: I now think I may have messed up the inner springs by shifting without tension on the cable. Changed the rating to 4 stars.

I bought the entire GX groupset minus the cassette individually, because I wanted use an NX cassette so I didn't have to replace my hub to XD. Installed all the components and everything works superbly.I had no install issues because I did the necessary research and measurements. You should know your bottom bracket type and measurements, if you are boost or non-boost, which spacers you use and where (all information is available at SRAM) take a digital caliper and measure. Just make sure you watch the videos how to install these products before you purchase the components and try to install the wrong one. Be sure you have a new high quality derailleur hanger. This is not a first time beginner undertaking. Know when you have no idea and ask someone and if you don't know or don't have the right tools, take it to a bike shop. You will need a chain whip, and the right socket and tools to remove your existing cassette, and bottom bracket, and same for installing your bottom bracket. I used an SRAM DUB BSA boost+ bottom bracket 68/72mm. I lucked out because it had the correct spacer for the right side, plus the boost spacer I didn't need.

After using an SX shifter, my main reason for getting this was because I upgraded to a GX rear mech. I can't see just wanting this with anything below GX rear mech because though the shifting on this is great, it still lacks the cool features (adjustability, materials, etc) of the higher end shifters. But to review the shifter itself, it works great, good feel.

Really easy to install and the extra mounting position hole on the shifter allows you to fine tune the shifter position to where it’s most comfortable for each ride!

This is replacing an NX shifter. I had to replace the NX derailleur and figured I might as well replace the shifter too. I personally am more of a shimano guy but the GX stuff seems pretty nice and there is a noticeable weight savings over the NX parts! The GX parts feel a lot tougher too. I really would recommend the GX over NX if you have the few extra dollars.

Si era rotta la molla interna del comando NX che avevo così l'ho sostituito con il GX. Questo ha l'aria decisamente più robusta rispetto al modello base e visto il costo (30 euro) non ci ho pensato un momento a comprarlo. Arriva con il cavo già montato e in pochissimi minuti viene montato.

The SRAM GX Eagle 12-speed trigger shifter arrived in excellent packaging with the actual product positioned almost like a presentation. Installation was a breeze; the 12-speed shifter simply took the place of my 11-speed shifter. I like how the GX-Eagle shifter came with new inner cable already pre-installed. I also like how the barrel adjuster has little indents to keep the barrel in place. As far as actual use goes, the GX Eagle 12-speed trigger shifter feels like any other SRAM trigger shifter, with that satisfying click when you shift. I also like how there's two positions to adjust the shifter side-to-side when installing using the Matchmaker system (one clamp for both brake and shifter). So far I haven't had a bad shift with this unit, the trigger is very smooth and feels like it has just the right tension.NOTE: I purchased the GX Eagle 12-speed rear derailleur, XG-1275 GX Eagle 12-speed cassette, GX Eagle 12-speed trigger shifter, and GX-Eagle 12-speed chain. The next portion of text will be repeated in my reviews for the other items as well)Coming from an 11-speed setup, and I can't tell you how big of an improvement/upgrade it was! For the price of entry (about $375 for the groupset, minus the cranks) the entire GX Eagle system works so well, it feels just like the X01 Eagle system but without the gold bling and more importantly - at a very affordable price point. Shifting is crisp and satisfying. Drive train noise is actually surprisingly quiet. Thanks to the wide range of gears (and the 50t cog!) I can tackle more climbs for longer time periods with less effort. I'm completely happy that I made this upgrade to GX Eagle, looks like SRAM has made 12-speed both reliable and wallet friendly. I wish I had this group set a long time ago!
