I purchased this soft shell helmet for my 8-year-old son playing flag football, and overall, I'm pleased with the helmet itself. It fits him well, and the material feels durable and protective, especially considering the price. It's definitely provided the head protection I was looking for.However, the included mouthguard was a miss for us. We followed the molding instructions carefully, but it still ended up being too large and uncomfortable for my son's mouth. He said it felt like it was designed for a teenager, not a young child. We'll have to purchase a separate, smaller mouthguard for him.Pros:Helmet fits well and is adjustable.Good quality material for the price.Provides adequate head protection for flag football.Cons:Mouthguard is too large for younger children (8 years old in our case).Mouthguard was uncomfortable even after molding.If you're buying this for a younger child, be prepared to buy a separate youth-sized mouthguard. The helmet itself is a good value

My son fit into this helmet without an issue. He was able to adjust the strap himself to get it just tight enough. The material feels good and it was easy to wash after practice. The mouth guard works good too and the whole set is great for a first time player to get started.

The headgear is soft and spongy and fit great with a Velcro chin strap. Mouthguard easy to use after following directions to boil then mold.
