Unlike marine grade Carling switches a magnet sticks well to these switches. So there must be ample ferrous material. I am unsure how well they will do, long term, in a worst case marine environment. I chose these as they were available and I could not get a Carling switch in the configuration I needed. Of course the price of these is very low but that could be costly in the long run. Time will tell on how well they do. I think these can be recommended for modest service conditions but I am uncertain beyond that.

I used these for a low voltage lighting system. I used 2 of them to turn the lights on/off from each end of our pathology the lake. The 3rd was used to turn on a 12v spotlight at the lake end of the path to illuminate our pier. They seem well built but have only been in service for about a month. The boot fits well and appears to keep water out Of the switch.

I use 2 of these in a 24vac 2-way switching circuit for a driveway/stairway light controller. It's a low voltage, low current circuit, so I can't rate the switches for how they will work under a heavy load. However, they feel and operate similar to more expensive SPDT switches. Time will tell.Cons - just 1 - the connecting terminals are small enough that wires tend to squish out from under the screw heads during tightening, similar to a more expensive switch that gave me the same problem. Just strip enough wire to wrap clear around the screw.Pros - several. Seems to be sturdily constructed. Comes with 2 mounting nuts and a flat washer, PLUS the waterproof boot, per switch. As a bonus, the switches and hardware came in 2 nifty little reuseable plastic boxes which should be useful for holding all kinds of small items securely.

Useing the switch in a toy remote control boat the waterproof was good. The switch worked fine for a retro switch.
