Temperature readings are °F/°C switchable. Icons indicate comfortable, wet or dry humidity conditions. Min/Max function with reset option records the highest and lowest readings to monitor changing conditions over time. The RHT22 can be placed on a flat surface using its built-in stand or wall mounted in labs, green houses, cleanrooms, warehouses, museums, offices, schools, homes, and virtually anywhere indoor humidity and temperature have to be monitored. Comes complete with AAA battery.

I tested this and it is accurate in comparison with other devices I already had. Having the humidity is helpful because in our location it varies quite a bit. And sometimes there can be a 20% difference between outdoor and indoor humidity. This helps us make better decisions about when to open up the house to change the air.Only complaint and it does make a difference, the cable for the outdoor sensor is way too short. It severely limits where you can place the thermometer. I prefer hard wired to wireless but the short cable really is problematic. I may extend the cable it but right now don't have time to dig into it.

It’s surprisingly hard to find just a simple affordable hygrometer of a decent quality. I took a gamble with this after headachingly scrolling through so many options… so far so good.

I've got this temperature/humidity meter set up in my woodworking shop. It is nice to know what's going on humidity wise for the wood's sake, and it gives me a good excuse to be done for the day when it hits 80F. Just not as much fun after 80F with the big tools pumping out more heat.

Review of Triplett RHT313.Summary: I love the display and button logic, but the humidity accuracy is suspect. I bought this because the company made high-end instruments and this included accuracy specifications that were reasonable. This was the unit that I was supposed to be able to trust and it costs at least double the cheaper units available everywhere. The two sensors in this unit and four of my other thermometers all agree with each other +/- 1 degree F.The first RHT313 and the warranty replacement unit I received do not meet the humidity specification--in a closed container, the difference between the indoor and outdoor humidity readings is 10 points and sometimes higher. This can't be true if the humidity specification is +/- 5 points. I gave the unit plenty of time to settle just in case the sensor inside the RHT313 took longer to respond than the exposed outdoor probe.I placed a third meter from a different company inside the container that agreed with the Triplett indoor reading within two points. If the third meter is accurate, the outdoor is very low. The temperature inside the container matched within a degree and was exactly the same for some time. The warranty replacement experience was first-rate. The company responded to my inquiry within one day, issued an RMA, and shipped a replacement to me without charge. I paid the postage to return the defective unit. It looked like I got a brand new unit. This layout is great. There's a min/max/reset button for indoor readings and a separate button for outdoor readings. Press once for Max, again for Min, again for current, or hold for 3 seconds to reset Max and Min to the current values.Min or Max display for about 7 seconds before reverting to the current values. Having two buttons lets you reset indoor extreme values without resetting the outdoor values and vice-versa.I love that the temperature display uses a smaller digit for the tenths of a degree display--it's a subtle reminder that the display precision is greater than the sensor accuracy of +/-2 degrees Fahrenheit. For humidity, the engineers left out the tenth digit and the decimal point which would imply much greater accuracy than the specification of +/-5%.Triplett makes more expensive units you can calibrate or buy with a NIST certificate traced to an accurate device--this unit does not have those features.

Exactly what you are looking for in a no-frills, small footprint temp/humidity gauge. It is PERFECT.

I was looking for a simple, easy-to-read display with no extra features to fool with. I looked into mechanical instruments but the good ones are now priced like artwork - they look very cool but I just didn't want to spend that much. This instrument, from Triplett, fulfils the essential need. The RH and temperature readings appear quite accurate and within specification. I like the AAA battery power since replacement will be cheap and easy. The only caution I would note is the 100% plastic construction. That befits the price. The weak point is probably the fold-out leg for standing it on a surface but the removable battery cover is a close second. Also note: no backlight, though the display is of course readable in ambient light. In the same order, I also purchased the Triplet RHT12, the much smaller and less expensive version of its big brother RHT22. The measurement specifications are essentially identical except the RHT12 temperature display shows just whole degrees. This one is sized to clip, stick, or stash anywhere you want to access the RH/Temp. It must be quite an old design since the battery is an LR44 cell (AKA A76) which I probably first encountered in the 1970's - or possibly the internal circuit layout didn't leave enough room for a CR2032 cell.
