These tools are all hand-crafted from the finest grade stainless steel available. Old-world craftsmanship combined with modern technology result in tools of exquisite quality with the aesthetic and feel of fine surgical instruments. This is a gorgeous set of tools The Stainless Steel 3pc Tool Kit Includes: Traditional "Butterfly" Shaped Bonsai Shear - The "Butterfly" shaped pruning shear is the most popular Bonsai tool on the market. TheyÕre very easy to use, exceptionally powerful because of their unique design and have plenty of room in the handles to accommodate gloved fingers. When it comes to trimming roots, twigs and branches easily and precisely, Butterfly Shears are essential. 180mm. Concave Cutter - Second only to the shear in terms of popularity, the Concave Cutter is the perfect tool when it comes to branch removal. The Concave Cutter's razor-sharp edge is specifically designed to make an indentation in the bark, taking a slight ÒbiteÓ out of the area which allows the wound to heal faster and leaving a scar that's much less prominent. 210 mm. Wire Cutter - After you've trained and shaped your Bonsai with wire, removing that wire is going to require a good pair of wire cutters. These Long Handled Wire Cutters have short cutting blades with a rounded tip, giving the user greater control of the cut and insuring that only the wire gets removed while the branches remain untouched. 210 mm. Bamboo Storage Case - This kit also includes a unique and distinctive hand-rubbed bamboo storage box with a clear panel cover, perfect for safely storing your Tinyroots tools during decades of use. It also makes for a beautiful gift presentation.

Excellent set of tools for a competitive cost.Received mine today. Amazing craftsmanship. Tested the concave cutter on a Silver Buttonwood with a thick branch and the cut was clean and precise. Tools come very sharp, shiny, and the bamboo box is just beautiful. For beginners like me, up to any level of mastership, this tool kit is a "bang for your money".

The tools do not feel solid. For the price I paid, I was expecting a far more higher quality product. The package was delivered with a broken box. There were no broken pieces in the package delivered so I am assuming it was delivered broken. Poor customer service.

First, I received these before the estimated arrival date. Pleasant surprise.I purchased a 40+ Olea europea last year and appreciate the beauty and the cost of the artistry in this bonsai. I’m now at a point that I need tools for specific task. After reviewing bonsai tools for a few hours, I decided on this set. I could have paid the same amount for substantially more tools, but I remembered a phrase, “quantity vs. quality” and I’m thankful I did. I did not want to chance damaging a single branch or stem on my bonsai.Although not as important as the tools, the storage box is impressive. As for the tools, they exceeded my expectation in quality and weight. The handles are long enough to reach the innermost areas of my bonsai. In a few days, I will use two of the three tools when I have sufficient time this weekend. Assuming they perform as in the descripiton, I will purchase additional tools as my bonsai needs attention.

I am writing a review as these are fairly new to the market and I couldn't find any info to help me decide whether or not to buy so this is for the next guy. The tools appear to be precision made. The tools are hand adjusted so they all have the same clearances, It makes every tool feel somewhat similar pressure exertion wise. I have several opinions about stainless vs carbon steel but in a nut shell I opted for stainless as the climate here in Florida is 90-100% humidity on a daily basis and I would rather sharpen tools than fight rust. Nothing ticks me off more than a rusty tool. The saw doesn't appear to be of much use, fairly poor quality but I didn't order the kit with the intention of using the saw I have plenty of those already although it would have been nice to have a good saw with the kit… Minus 1/2 star. The wooden case is handy, each tool has a precise spot "Helps with my OCD". Upon arrival I tossed the leatherette tool roll It looked cheap and not worth the pollution that was created to produce it. Kind of like the toy in the happy meal its fun for about two seconds then off to the landfill it goes… Minus another 1/2 star. Time will tell if this set holds up I don't think i will have any troubles with it. I figure I have another 30 good years of Bonsai left in me so this set should get me to the finish line. Hope this helps the next guy. : )

A wonderful set of tools (instruments) for a bonsai artist. The tools come oiled and are in a beautiful case! Expensive but you are getting all the tools you need in a really nice wooden case. The tools are comparable to surgical instruments.
