Great build quality and machining. It feels durable and heavy (in a good way).I haven't had to test its protection yet, and I hope I never have to, but it gives me some comfort knowing it's there. Granted this won't do much for direct hits on the lenses or screen, but will provide protection from some drops and knocks.Super easy operation and a nice snug fit.Reasonably priced in my opinion.

I bought the OEM cage but didn’t like it because you have to remove the camera from it in order to change the battery which is a bit of a faff. This cage is way better as you do not have to remove the camera. It also has a twisty bit on the top which when folded out, protects both lenses should the camera fall which is a really great and useful addition. It’s well designed, well built and I love it.

This isn’t some thin frame, even without the device inside of it it’s very ridged. I’m extremely happy with this. Also having its own 1/4 20 female hole you’re not risking damaging the one on the X4 itself.

The Tilta Full Camera Cage for the Insta360 X4 is an absolute game-changer! Right out of the box, the build quality is phenomenal—crafted from lightweight yet durable aluminum and stainless steel, it feels rugged without adding unnecessary bulk. The attention to detail here is what sets Tilta apart, and this cage exceeds even their high standards. The protective armor is a must-have for anyone serious about safeguarding their Insta360 X4. It fits snugly around the camera body, preventing wear and tear during shoots. The rotatable lens support is a stroke of genius, adding an extra layer of protection for the delicate lenses, and it works seamlessly with the optional silicone lens protector.I love the quick-release design, which makes accessing the camera and battery compartment incredibly smooth—a lifesaver during fast-paced shoots. Despite all these features, the cage remains lightweight and perfectly complements the X4’s portability. This cage not only enhances durability but also provides peace of mind, whether I’m capturing breathtaking landscapes or experimenting with creative perspectives using my BraveHeart extension pole. Tilta has nailed the balance of form and function, and this cage is worth every penny! Highly recommended for anyone looking to take their Insta360 X4 setup to the next level.

Extremely well-built product. Solid metal construction with a responsive, intuitive, reliable clasp to secure it in place. My Insta360 camera slides in with a perfect fit. The sides and bottom of the cage have all the appropriate threaded mounting holes for your selfie sticks or helmet mounts, etc. The top has a swivel flange that can be twisted to protrude out beyond the depth of the lens so that if the camera tips over, the swivel top protects against impact to the lens. There is a nice snug-fitting rubber gasket that can also be applied over the lenses (when not using them) that provides great protection. If I had one concern, it is that this is merely a metal frame around the edges of your expensive camera. It provides great drop protection for sidewalks and floors, etc, but when I am mountain biking or skiing and crash (admittedly, it happens), there is nothing to keep the odd shaped rock or branch from stabbing into the exposed faces of your camera. To be fair, you need some of the surfaces exposed for proper operation of the camera, but it's worth noting the limitation to the protection.Bottom-line, though: I won't bike or ski without the frame since receiving it. While not 100% protection, the well-made device provides some much-desired security for on my more active days with the Insta360.
