I like the fact instead of twisting the grip on the old shifter was hard due to arthritis in my wrists. I installed these new shifters and they work great .Yes I recommend this

got them installed on an old bike and it shift's great. sis works perfectly with changing the gears. really revived this bike. dials indicator pieces on top a little are a little plasticy and not very sturdy they wobble back and forth as you tap them. I assume they're just snapped in pieces and they're going to be fine. but I had to have a gripe for 4 stars and not 5.

Replaced the 1990 shifters with these. Easy install and tuning. Sturdy.

I picked up 1983 six (6) speed Lotus about a month ago in pretty rough shape. I was able to ride it at first but something would break on every trip. The worst is over now that I've disassembled, cleaned and reinstalled everything (except the crank arms). The shifters on the bike were age-old mini friction, which barely worked, and then the rear crumbled on a ride. The same day I found and ordered these, extremely happy with the action - reminds me of the Campy go fast button (small thumb levers). Also the old DNP rear derailleur was a mess and required a hefty pull. I had a extra Campy 9 Speed Mirage and did a side-by-side, honestly it's the same design from 40 years ago. It fit nicely, all I had to do to modify it was replace the 2 set screws with longer screws to shorten the throw. Way Better, Way less spring tension, Seamless shifting.I know some will see the pic and think the Skewer is in backwards, not-really the wheel slipped in the other direction.
