I'm a PT and my husband was experiencing adductor pollicis tendinosis. I had him get this thumb spica to encourage rest of the muscle during his higher risk activities including typing for work and repeated gripping/lifting at the gym. Combined with appropriate strengthening, he's been getting great relief and his thumb pain is improving.It has helf up against repeated velcro opening/closing, is appropriately priced in my opinion, and is adjustable so that he can have the appropriate amount of mobility while healing.Again, this brace should not be used in isolation, but with appropriate strengthening and exercise. So make sure if you're having pain to check in with the appropriate healthcare provider!

This is perfect for immobilizing the thumb. It took some getting used to while typing but eventually I forgot I was wearing it. I also like the fact that I can tighten it on the wrist too since I also have an issue with that wrist. Highly recommend!

This works well. It is comfortable and breathable. My only problem is the metal part keeps sliding out which allows my thumb to move more than it should. Pretty frequently I have to push the metal back up to the tip

I purchased two of these thumb braces and each one is missing the elastic spring lined support. I received the solid aluminum bar support but the spring line support is missing from each package. I would appreciate that being sent to me. I will Rate this purchase. After I receive them, thank you

I love that this comes with 2 different braces- one that is flexible but keeps your thumb from spreading too far, and a very solid piece that greatly limits mobility. I was using the flexible, ringed brace mostly during the day, but my doctor advised I use the solid splint at night so my wrist and hand could not move about all willy-nilly. This actually helped a LOT more and I leave the brace off completely during the day unless I am moving heavy objects that may bend my thumb more than it can handle. Pain has lessened considerably and I am very pleased! Quality and durability are very high; this one has lasted without fraying and looking 'lived in' longer than others. I've used it extensively for the past several months, even gotten it wet, and it still looks new. Extremely pleased with this product, especially the customizability. Highly recommended! (P.S., the non flexible splint piece will cause some "muscle freeze" as happens when parts are not moved for hours on end. I suggest just twisting your wrist a bit side to side gently before going straight into general use and movement. Loosen things up a bit. I learned that trick the very hard, sharp, painful way.)

Lucky me, I developed arthritis in the base of my thumb with a lot of pain. It was worse in certain positions, and would wake me up at night. I don't like taking lots of pain meds, and the rub-in and roll-on medications weren't helping much. This brace is easy to put on and off, and is sturdy. I mostly wear it at night, and it has helped both with the pain at night and I also have less pain when I get up in the morning. It doesn't hold my thumb entirely rigid, but it restricts the movement enough to do the job. Initially it was a little uncomfortable, but after reviewing the directions I realized it had come with the solid metal brace strip inserted upside down. Once I positioned it correctly it was much more comfortable and easy to wear. I definitely have less pain since I have been using this brace.
