I got this dual thermocouple thermometer for monitoring temperature differences, like PC air intake versus exhaust. Probes respond quickly to temperature changes since they have such low thermal mass. It's very useful for monitoring continual change without having to manually subtract, or use one thermometer to periodically take both temperatures. I like that this supports any future thermocouple types I get.Unit is fairly sturdy, but not the best plastic quality. Display viewing angle is good, and backlight is very readable in the dark but only stays on for a few seconds (pressing hold gets it on without messing up settings). Updates more than one time a second. Can swap T1 and T2 displays to be most intuitive. Remembers probe type and F/C setting when powered off. Probes have the same calibration so difference is right around 0.0 when at same temperature. Min/max/avg start when powered on and get confused if probe isn't plugged in before powering on. Probes use polarized flat pin connector, not banana plugs as some others use. Worked fine on rechargeable NiMH batteries.

This is an inexpensive and handy thermocouple reader. It takes Mini connectors so you can use any thermocouple type with that style of termination or you can find an adapter if yours uses a standard or something different. It can simultaneously display two readings and has average/min/max capability. It can also difference the two readings which can be pretty handy. There is a backlight on the display but it doesn't stay on for very long. The reader itself is all plastic housing and feels comparable to similar electronics that you'd get from Harbor Freight--not the nicest or most durable but gets the job done at a good price. It runs on 3 AAA batteries which are provided.Measuring temps with the supplied k-type thermocouples showed a difference of ~1°F between them so if your needing high accuracy this probably isn't for you but if you need finer accuracy you need to be looking at professional (and exponentially more expensive) equipment.Overall I'm pleased with this thermocouple reader. It gets the job done for infrequent use at a low price point. I'm sure it'll be used in my equipment troubleshooting arsenal.
