I now own an official Rivian charging adapter for superchargers so this has become a redundant insurance policy that I'm carrying in the truck. This adapter feels heavy duty, substantial and appears to be well-machined.We have a Level 2 charger at home, so fast charging is only needed on trips out of town and it has been fairly easy to find CCS chargers so far.

This seller is updating their list and wording of their capabilities of use so if you don’t see your vehicle approved listed, do not purchase this. Even KIA was not there on their unapproved list when I bought mine or I would have been skeptical since I own Hyundai….I see they’ve added vehicles that do not work and wasn’t updated when I bought this so hopefully they will add my car to list. I was really excited to try this at Tesla supercharger station. Too bad.

First and foremost, this is in the opinion and review of the quality of this adapter construction. The NACS auto connector is Tesla exclusive today yet will begin rolling out to other new production EV’s in the coming year. Most other EV manufacturers use CCS charge ports today and will require an adapter to charge at Tesla Superchargers. For those of us that have non-Tesla EV's this type of DC adapter will be required once Tesla permits vehicles other than the few already allowed, to use their stations. My BMW iX will be allowed next year and as I own a Tesla also my phone app recognizes both vehicles and once allowed will be able to use the Tesla Superchargers. This CCS to NACS construction is extremely high quality and fiberglass impregnated composite plastic is used with stainless steel fasteners and high-quality plated brass connections. From an engineering standpoint I can only say that it clicks in beautifully to both the Tesla NACS adapter and adapts beautifully to my BMW CCS1 charge port. I cannot attest to actual performance at Superchargers as my BMW is not officially yet allowed to use the Tesla charging system. It works well from my home Tesla AC charger to my BMW.

I recently bought a Ford Mach-E with a range of around 200 miles. Most EV drivers, especially ones that have recently switched from a gas vehicle, can identify with the initial feelings of range anxiety attached to the purchase of your car. When you look around at EV charging stations where I live, the vast majority are Tesla supercharging stations. So, the need for a NACS to CCS Adapter became crucial. I was very impressed when I received this adapter. It is very well packaged and protected and came with a velvet pouch for those that don't want to keep it in the box. It is compact and very easy to store. The adapter seems very well-constructed, more so than the OEM one a friend purchased from Ford. The first time I used this adapter at a Supercharger station, it worked perfectly the first time. The connections felt very secure and the release buttons worked well. It was a pleasure being able to charge so quickly through the Supercharger and to be on my way in less than 15 minutes. Overall, I would highly recommend this adapter, especially if you travel long distances and want to reduce your range anxiety significantly.

I work for a large automotive manufacturer and wanted to give this a try on our vehicle that isn't released yet. We are not currently supported by Tesla, and found out the hard way that we are blocked from charging by Tesla. I tested on a V3 (250kW) charger and when attempting to charge, the Tesla app cancels the charge session and says the vehicle is not supported. Oh well, it was worth a try, and good to know. Do not buy this if your vehicle is not listed as supported by Tesla, it won't charge. The magic dock (V4) charger works great on any EV (has a CCS1 built-in to the charger), but those chargers are few and far between. The adapter itself is high quality, fitment in the charge port was snug, and the Tesla NACS plug went in easily enough. Looking at my data collected I could see the adapter was working correctly, plugin was confirmed, but charging session was cancelled by the EVSE (Tesla).

I have a Volvo C40 and was thrilled when I heard that the Tesla Supercharger network was opening to Volvos. Although I ordered the official Volvo adapter, there was a long wait and I was excited when I saw this adapter become available. I was a bit wary at first of a third-party adapter, especially after reading reviews of other brands which often had difficulty connecting and disconnecting from the Tesla charger. However, these concerns went away when I received the Ruichi adapter. It was well protected in the packaging and had a very high-quality feel to it. The real test was putting it to use on a somewhat cold day (temps in the 30's). I used the Tesla app to find an open charger and thankfully the Volvo charge port is in the same location as a Tesla because I could not back up too close to the charger due to the piles of snow. As a result the short Tesla charge cable was stretched to the max and pulled a bit on the adapter when I plugged in. A real worst-case use scenario! Initially I got an error, but after plugging it all in again and reinitiating the charge with the Tesla app, it began to charge at a reasonable 90KW rate (given the cold battery, 32% SOC, and max rate for the car at 150KW). Disconnecting it all when done was very easy. None of the difficulties I've heard from other adapter reviews. I definitely feel that I can trust this product for use on a road trip. This can be a game changer for routes with limited charge options. I'd recommend it, especially with the lower cost than OEM adapters. I eventually received my OEM Volvo adapter and have to say that the overall build quality of the Ruichi adapter seems better than the OEM version. Other reviews have noted a lack of certification markings on the Ruichi, but the same is true of the OEM version, so I wouldn't be concerned.
