PREMIUM SD IGNITERS

Igniters are crucial components in your oven and come in many different shapes and sizes, and have different specifications depending on the Model they are being installed on!

Gas Oven Igniters

Gas Oven Igniters

  • Glow Bar Igniters: Commonly used in gas ovens, these igniters function by heating up to a specific temperature (typically around 1200-1800 degrees Fahrenheit) to ignite the gas flowing to the burner. They glow brightly when operational and are known for their reliability and longevity.
  • Spark Igniters: Found in older or some commercial gas ovens, spark igniters use an electric spark to ignite the gas. Spark igniters are less common in household ovens today but are still used in some models.

Electric Oven Igniters

  • Broil Element Igniters: Used in electric ovens with broiling functions, these igniters are similar to heating elements but are designed specifically to provide intense heat for broiling food.
  • Bake Element Igniters: Found in electric ovens for baking, these igniters are heating elements that warm up to the desired temperature to maintain consistent heat for baking.

Inspecting faulty igniters

Inspecting Faulty Igniters

Signs of a faulty igniter can include:

  • No Ignition or Weak Flame | Delayed Ignition | Uneven Cooking | Unusual Noises | Visible Damage | Excessive Build-up

Electric oven igniters may require testing for proper voltage supply or inspecting for visible signs of damage or wear on the heating element.

Testing Faulty Igniters

Testing Faulty Igniters

You can test your oven igniter by:

  • Visual Inspection | Testing for Continuity (Multimeter Method) | Observing Ignition Behavior | Consult Manufacturer's Instructions

Troubleshooting gas oven igniters often involves checking for a glowing igniter or testing for continuity to determine functionality.

This was a perfect match replacement for my Samsung oven. Installation was simple. It appears to be a high quality part and the resistance rating was in the correct range when I checked with a meter. It heats up quickly. My oven no longer does the "whump" noise every few minutes. The original igniter in my oven lasted a few years. I replaced it with an official Samsung part that was over $100. That one also only lasted a few years, so slow failure seems to be common on this part. If this new one lasts a few years like the others, then it's well worth it being less than 1/4th the price.

Received fairly quick, second one we’ve bought. Worked good with our gas range. Biggest down fall was it only lasted about a year.

After trying two other gas igniters from Amazon that arrived broken, I was thrilled with this one for my Samsung gas stove. It was very well packed and arrived in perfect condition. The construction is clearly superior, with durable materials that feel built to last. Installation was straightforward, and it works flawlessly. Highly recommend this igniter for anyone needing a reliable replacement!

I cannot yet speak on longevity. I'll update if it dies quickly within a few months.I had my oven stop working. It started to take a noticable time to heat up, eventually stopped a threw an "E-08" code which means heating issue. This was a replacement for my gas oven igniter. My igniter wasn't glowing and appeared to possibly be dead.I replaced my internal thermometer and this igniter. It fixed my oven for about $50-75bucks.Install is easy and if you're able to assemble grills from the box etc. this will be doable. (I had 1 screw I needed to Dremel into a standard vs Philips due to being stripped)Oven is heating up quicker and no more error code.Hopefully this will give my oven a few more years vs needing a whole new replacement. So far the part worked and was a direct fit, plug and play.

I can’t speak to longevity as I just installed, however it was simple to install and worked great immediately. It appears identical to the one I replaced, very happy for an inexpensive fix.

Paid $28 and this part seems to be higher quality than the OEM part that came on the Samsung oven. Those go for over $200 and the original one only lasted a couple of years. Replacement in my oven was simple and didn’t even require moving the oven. It took under 10 mins and required only a phillips head screwdriver. I tested and this new part ignited quickly and preheated the oven like brand new. Time will tell on longevity, but if it makes it past a year it’ll be on par with the OEM ignitor…and if I have to replace it every year I can do that for close to a decade before hitting the expense of 1 new OEM part. This seller is great too - packed well (and in the USA) in soft foam (these are fragile-ish parts) and in a solid cardboard box. Glad I found this seller and product and will be back again the next time one of my subpar imported appliances fails.

My oven was not reaching correct temperatures. Old one looked like it was getting read hot, but looks are deceiving. Easy to install. I lost one screw in the process, but manages to hold tight with just one. Stop trying to troubleshoot, and just buy this replacement. If it didn’t fix your problem now, you’ll eventually need one anyway.
