About this item

  • Controller only, solar panel not included. This MPPT charge controller is designed for solar panels without built-in controllers, specifically those operating at 12V with power of 50W or less. It is not compatible with solar panels that have integrated controllers
  • Maximized Energy Efficiency: SUNAPEX's newly upgraded MPPT smart charge controller squeezes up to 34% more power from solar panels compared to traditional PWM controllers, ensuring your battery gets every possible joule of energy
  • Zero Battery Drain: Unlike 24-hour power-consuming MPPT controllers, ours consumes zero battery power. Equipped with diodes in controller, our system prevents reverse current flow, assuring no battery drainage even when the sun isn't shining
  • Comprehensive Safety Measures: Built-in with multiple safeguards including overcharge; overvoltage; reverse current; reverse polarity; short circuit and over-temperature protection, ensuring your battery charges safely and efficiently
  • SAE Connector Convenience: Equipped with SAE connectors for easy and direct attachment to SUNAPEX 15W; 25W; 50W solar panels, is also adaptable to other brands within the 50W power range with (Make sure the positive and negative poles match)
  • Universal Compatibility: Compatible with GEL; AGM and LiFePO₄ batteries
  • Worry-Free Warranty and Support: We stand behind our solar panel with a one year warranty and lifetime technical support. We also offer 7×24 hours after-sales service to ensure that your question is answered within one day. If you are not satisfied with our products, or have any questions or need technical support, you can reach us anytime

This MPPT controller is everything I could want. I have it on a separate system from the main solar on my overland rig. It is a 25W panel that keeps 2 small 15Ah batteries topped up to run some flood lights independently. It is working perfectly. I like the fact that it is IP67 Waterproof so I can dangle it on the outside of my little battery box to see status. Materials and construction quality are superb. Installation is plug and play. Performance is better than expected, with my battery charge being topped up every day. It handles extreme temperatures and does everything a charge controller should. Highest recommendation.

I don't have the scientific know-how to go in depth with this. I connected this to a 50w solar panel and a 12v battery. I put it in the sun, set to the type of battery (I had sealed lead acid and I set it to AGM-that's pretty close). It lit up showing the battery's current state of charge and went to work. In short order, it was at 100%. I was using a small battery. I think it was like a 20 ah battery. So figuring my 50w panel was generating about 4a (+or -) and the battery started somewhere between 50 and 75%, 2 hours or so should have handled it. Yeah, I know this is rough. Well, anyway, it worked and I'm happy. It's easy to understand and easy to use. It looks and feels pretty solid. MPPT is way better than PWM. If I had to say something bad about it, I guess I wish it could handle more input, either higher volts or higher amps. That's me looking for something bad to say though.

Having SAE connectors makes this charger a very useful one. Need ring terminals? This thing's got ya. How about a cigarette socket? Yep. DC barrel jack of varying sizes? Yep, that too. Well... not this specifically but if you have the SAE connectors from other products, this'll fit the charger here too.So... all in all, having the SAE connectors as a sort of universal jack really makes this charger worth the money. It also is a pretty smort charger in that it can detect the types of batteries you put it on and adjust accordingly, to an extent but it's best to keep it separated in that function IMO. I never want to stick the wrong type of charger onto the wrong type of battery, you know?Anyway, it charges at a slow but safe rate and when it comes to charging batteries, that, in my opinion is the main important factor.

This solar chare controller works perfectly. I had to purchase some connection convertors to attach to my panel's wiring but it works perfectly. I like the informational lights on the front. Allows me to be confident my batteries are getting charged properly.

Previously bought a more expensive unit from a name brand. I was not happy with its performance, nor its user interface with LED lights, etc. I had purchased a Sunapex Solar Panel in the past, and was happy with their product. So when this stand along solar control came available, I ordered it. This unit works great. There a more LED lights on this unit than on the other one I have, so it gives me more information about the status of the charge. It also has a mode button to choose the type of battery. I am using LifePo4, and it is good to see the little LED light indicating I am using the correct charging mode! The other controller has no such controls, nor such lights, so I never know for sure that its using the correct algorithmn for the Lithums. This is good unit. I like it. And I highly recommend it.

Cool little pre-wired SAE charge controller! This is perfect for easily connecting one of my portable solar panels that came wired with SAE to my batteries and radio. I hooked it up this afternoon and it fired right up. Put it on a little 12.8V 7AH LifePO4 battery I use for backup purposes and it started charging. That battery was around 50% charged when I hooked it up and the units indicator showed the same as my larger controller. Switched it over to my 20 AH LifePO4 which had about 75% charge and the indicator showed 75% as well. This unit has a nice charge level indicator, is water proof and compact. Simply press the mode selector until the battery type you are using lights up.I recommend this charger. It handles 15 watts up to 50 watts and is waterproof. Just what I needed.

I am using this charge controller along with a 50 Watt solar panel to keep the battery charged on my pickup truck. The truck sometimes sits for a week or two at a time without being driven, and because it has an alarm system in it that constantly draws a slight amount of current, the battery can get drained to the point that the truck won't start. The truck is always parked outside, so installing this charge controller and solar panel was a perfect solution. The solar panel is mounted on top of the toolbox in the truck bed, and the charge controller is mounted right on top of the battery with industrial grade Velcro. This charge controller is super simple to use and comes with adequate instructions that are pretty well written. There’s really not much to setting it up. The controller is supposed to be waterproof, so I don’t think it will have any problems being mounted on top of the truck battery which hardly ever gets wet anyhow. After I installed the controller and hooked everything up, I saw 2.5 Amps flowing to the battery as measured with a clamp-on ammeter. The battery was pretty well discharged (about 11.9 Volts) when I took that measurement, so there was plenty of “room” in the battery for that power to flow to.I did contact the seller to ask if an off-brand solar panel would work with this controller, and provided them with the solar panel specs, but whoever replied was unable to give me a straight answer other than they only guarantee that the charge controller will work with their own brand of solar panels. If anyone is interested, the panel that I am using has the following specs: 50 Watt, Isc = 2.5A, Voc = 24.59 A, and it seems t9o be working fine.
