Features:
Broad compatibility: the sump pump check valve is suitable for any pump with 1-1/2" NPT flow rate.
Transparent appearance: check valve's valve body is transparent, you can directly observe the flow of water and whether the pipeline is blocked by foreign matter.
Prevent water backflow: there is a check valve in the middle of the pump to prevent sewage from entering the sump again.
The check valve has a distinctive spring loaded baffle that keeps the pump quiet during operation.

I kept having a problem with my old, enclosed, spring loaded valve. I replaced it with this flapper valve and it has worked exceptionally well. The flap and compartment is large enough to let small debris through the line without clogging the mechanism. I would definitely recommend. Plus it’s clear, so you can see if you have a problem rather than having to take the whole thing apart to inspect it.

After reading the reviews I decided to purchase this silent check valve...BTW much cheaper here on Amazon as opposed to buying it locally. Of course, shipping was fast and it arrived in perfect condition with couplings as described. Materials appear sturdy, and was a breeze to install as I have a secondary pump that was on standby while I installed it. Took approximately 5 minutes total as I wanted to make sure everything was installed correctly and a tight fit. I must say I am thoroughly impressed as the water hammer with old check valve was exactly that, a loud hammering noise and with the silent check valve, it was exactly that...SILENT, no noise whatsoever! I am curious for how long it will last as I will assume the spring mechanism that allows for the silent function will eventually wear out. Most people who order this product will not complain of the water hammer with a regular check vale if the valve/pump was not being engaged often...unfortunately my pump engages numerous times an hour 24/7 so I will see just how long it remains silent. However, I would indeed purchase one every year due to the silent valve effectiveness. If it only lasts a month or two then it may not be worth it, so far I have had it installed for almost 2 weeks...will update review accordingly.

I installed this back flow preventer on my discharge line for my sump. I have a back up pump on my system. I had water running back through the back up pump. installed this on the discharge line and no more water running back.
