Would have been great, but screw that came with weren’t long enough to go through handle and extension to original stem

You live and learn. Sometimes lessons aren't cheap. I bought a new PF rough-in valve to replace an old, corroded and leaking unit and the valves with which it came had stems that were too short to go through a plaster and lath wall in an older home. The valves were of the sort designed to have a plastic flange nipple slip over the stem and screw into the base of the valve, onto which the flanges on the shower side of the wall are threaded to secure the assembly in place before the handles are attached with screws to the splined end of the stems. Without knowing any better, I thought these extensions would solve the problem. They didn't. The flange nipples didn't fit over the extensions. I later figured out that I needed to replace the valves with new valves having 5 1/4" stems. Once I'd done that, everything came together perfectly. Return of these extensions cost me about a third of the total purchase price. Each extension carried a separate shipping fee, although all three were shipped together at a fraction of the total shipping cost I paid, and shipping was not refunded when I returned them. I had to pay shipping back, and also paid a restocking fee. Reviews on AMAZON are often a good means by which one can learn from other's experiences in a way that can save money and headaches. Hopefully this review will spare some other DIY's the same trouble I encountered.

New tub/shower surround insert added about 1.25" to the wall depth, so valve stems didn't stick out far enough to attach handles. I had to research to figure out that my valve stems were Price-Pfister, but then found these extensions and they worked great, aside from the fact that the included machine screws weren't the right size (in thread diameter or pitch, or the screw depth). But I've been going to Home Depot every single day for the last week anyway, so wasn't that big of a deal

Disliked the product descriptions or lack of same. These units were designed exclusively for small window cranks with dimentions not suited for home uses. All of this could have been avoided hd the seller listed the dimensions in inches and stated NOT for HOME window cranks like Andersen or Pella window systems. Had to use an automotive unit for this purpose to add more length to the stem to clear a shutter window treatment. Sellers are missing an opportunity to provide sytems for this purpose when window treatments such a shutters are added that require more length to the crank stems to clear the window treatments.

I realized only after solding the new shower valve in place that it was designed to accomodate much thinner walls. The stems did not protrude through the walls far enough for the handles to attach. With the tile, thinset, and cement backer board, my shower walls were about 1" think. These extensions saved the day. They have been in place for some time now and are still working great.

The threaded bushings in the kit did not fit over the faucet stem, had to be modified to fit.
