Quality metal used with rubber protection pads on clamping jaws. Yes, I can understand that the " clamping fit " may be a bit loose depending on the thickness of the steering wheel. I installed mine on a 2018 "Jeep, Renegade" and the clamping was just not tight enough as it allowed the steering wheel to still be turned with the motion sensor not activating !!!!! Simple remedy~use construction adhesive to glue a 1"diameter piece of foam PIPE INSULATION to the clamping jaws ! Issue SOLVED !!!!

The red light which is a big reason I purchased this item worked for only 3 days. Amazon is not help on getting it replaced.

You can easily turn your wheel with this and take it off and the sound did not even work it’s was a worthless

Works great, but not easy to use, because the pawl is too short and too thick, it doesn't lock the steering wheel easily.
