This is just what I was looking for so I could start making jewelry. I had one with a slot in it and there is just no way to make a ring round on that kind of mandrel. I found this one and it looked sturdy, and it is. There are only 2 issues I have with this mandrel, first it rusts and second the numbers are difficult to read. I suppose I'll take some steel wool and get the rust off and then I'll need to keep it oiled and the numbers I may have to paint with a paint pen to make them stand out more...but that's for a later day. For now it works just fine and meets my needs.

I had to sand down the rough, sharp, and strangely shallow markings so that it wouldn't mar my rings when forging. The markings are invisible now. I have an aluminum sizing mandrel but it's a pain to have to switch
