This tool worked perfectly the first time I used it. The lower third of a broken cork ended up in the bottle. I just pushed the device into the bottle, and when I removed it the cork was held firmly in the prongs.

Took a few tries and a bit of a learning curve but was able to remove a half of a cork from inside a tequila bottle.

Let’s face it, mistakes were made, but fear not… we can overcome this disaster. I work in the wine industry and if you open enough bottles, every now and then you end up sacrificing a cork to the wine gods. This little device will help fish out a busted cork and save the day. It’s a nice insurance to have around when handling older bottles.

I tried to use this for whiskey bottles and it was challenging.Really designed for wine.Useful tool but seems potentially flimsy and harder to use for non wine shapes.

I really didn't know what to expect from this gadget until I actually had need to use it. The cork broke upon opening an older bottle of wine, and there was no way to remove the bottom half. Ended up pushing it down into the bottle. I removed the cork retriever from it's original packaging, inserted the gadget into the bottle and pulled out the cork on the 1st attempt. It could not have been any easier. It's comforting to know that there's a simple solution to an annoying problem. I highly recommend having this Cork Retriever on hand because you never know when you'll need it.

A lifesaver when the cork needs to be retrieved. Bought one for us, and several for friends. If you drink wine (especially vintage) regularly, you are going to need this eventually. Wouldn't be without one.
