It's a good bike chain with a lock that's probably not going to be picked and a cover to prevent scratches but the chain is small enough that it's still susceptible to larger bolt cutters and definitely not protecting against an angle grinder. Like most anything else out there, if someone attacks this with an angle grinder, it's probably got about 20 seconds of protection at best and you can get a decent sized bolt cutter around the chain. So, for shorter term usage, your kids bike at school, and similar, this should work well, just don't assuming it's cut proof or anything.

Very sturdy without being too heavy. Just the right length. While no lock will stop a determined crook, this lock will slow them down. It is covered with material so it won't scratch the bike. Comes with two keys. The lock has a key receptacle that is covered by a discreet dust cover. You use a button for sliding it open and closed. When you unlock it, you can put your keys away, because the key is not needed to lock the chain. Once you lock it, you just place the chain on the bike and around a solid object and set the lock into the body.The lock works easily and the whole package is very nice. For the money it cannot be beat.

We needed a bike lock, and ordered the Sportneer 6mm thick Bike Lock with a keys (vs. combo). My son thought managing keys would be easier than remembering a combination, which is kind of funny.At arrival, I was impressed with how sturdy the chain felt. It seems very strong and secure, and its weight is decent -- not too heavy that I would notice it as a pain to carry around in any way. The Sportneer lock arrived with a generous set of three keys, which is a nice touch. It feels quite sturdy and well-designed: the protective fabric cover isn't just slipped on -- it actually is permanent attached under the end-caps of both ends of the lock. I also like that the key itself is a unique smooth shape where the unique key pattern etched onto the flat surface, not the edges like regular keys. The lock also features a small key receptacle that is covered by a discreet dust cover with a simple small button for sliding it open/closed. Once unlocked, you can simply put your keys away, because the key is not needed for locking this chain -- once unlocked, you just put the chain around your bike and pop the end securely into the lock body! No re-locking with a key needed!In all, Sportneed has added nice, thoughtful touches to what is otherwise a simple product, making it a real treat to own. I ordered the 3.2' size, which I think is minimal length for one bike (given you don't always know what you'll be able to lock it to). If I were to purchase again, I think I'd opt for a longer size so that I might be able to carry one lock to use for more than one bike (since my family often rides together). I recommend the Sportneer bike locks!

This bike lock should serve its purpose for me, but in high-theft areas, I don't think it would hold up.The chain inside is pretty thin and will be easily cut by bolt cutters. The lock and key is smooth, but could easily be picked or bumped.Overall, it will hopefully deterr thieves, but of you actually want a guarantee of safety this lock probably isn't for you.

It looks really nice! It looks convincing! It has a working tumbler and stuff! So that gets it two stars.The chain under the sleeve is thin. A pair of bolt cutters won't even notice it's there.The locking mechanism under the plastic housing is super light weight and wiggly.On a hunch, I turn it over and whapped it just in that spot (IYKYK} with a rubber mallet and it popped right open. Several times.This looks nicer than it is. But I'll still use it for awhile to keep people from swiping my trauma bag from the truck rack every two minutes (sigh)Locks keep honest people honest. And that's what we have here. It's a little better than a zip tie, ,so honest people will stay honest.But I can't recommend purchasing it.
