I'm a ride it til it dies sort of person and the old one on my bike got brittle and fell off. I couldn't find the exact replacement for it but this one was pretty close and works well enough. It may be worth while to confirm the exact one for your bike if possible as there is a little slop in it if its not the right fit but for my purposes it did great. My chain doesnt drop between the gears and spokes anymore with this installed and this was certainly cheaper than trying to replace the gears and derailleur.
