I recently used the SpeTool O Single Flute Spiral Router Bit and I'm very impressed with its performance. The solid carbide construction ensures durability and long life. The 1/2 inch shank is compatible with most routers, and the 1-1/4 inch cutting length provides ample depth for various projects. The single flute design is ideal for cutting aluminum, acrylic, and wood, producing clean and precise cuts without excessive heat buildup. The bit is also well-balanced and runs smoothly, reducing vibration and improving overall cutting quality.

I'm using this bit for aluminum and it's really working well.To me, this is a very unique design but it certainly stays clean of swarf and leaves a very nice edge.I do always try to flood the cutter with cutting fluid/coolant and with this style of cutter, I don't like to push them overly hard, always trying to work within the design specifications of the tool, in fact, I'll often work well under the max recommendations just to extended the tool life, helping them to last a great deal longer.I'm super pleased with this bit and would recommend it. I don't think you'll be disappointed. The carbide really stays sharp but remember, carbide is brittle, so make your entry into the cut slow and steady, don't just slam the cutting tool into the material. Once the cutting starts, keep the cutting area clean and cool and proceed at a slow and constant speed.I see a lot of people on YouTube push their tools a bit too hard, attempting to show how good they are, but we all know that's all just showboating and doesn't help the life of your tool. This is a super unique cutter which is now a part of my most constantly used bits.

This bit slices through wood quite well. If you haven't used an upcut bit before, it will cut towards the router, so the edge furthest away from the router gets as clean a cut as possible. If you need to plunge, start away from the edge you want to be clean, then work towards it as you cut. It's solid carbide, and that's good because it's quite durable and long lasting. I have to admit though, when they said it was TAC coating, I had to look up exactly what that was. I learned that it indicates that it's Tantalum Carbide. I found online that the benefit is heat resistance and friction resistance to keep what you're cutting from sticking to the blade (like a nonstick surface). They say it gives a 2.5x extended life, but of course, I haven't had it long enough to judge that. They say TAC it adds sharpness and hardness, but I didn't see that called out online, but I'm also not a metallurgist, so maybe that's true as well.I'm quite pleased with this bit. It performs as expected and hoped for. I don't have a history of using bits from this brand, but after using one other bit, and now this one, I'll be looking for them as a bit source from here on out.

My cell phone is actually struggling to focus on the tip of this bit as it is nice and sharp... very fine point that can practically be used for surgery. The bit is hefty given that it is a 1/2" shank bit meant for router tables, CNC, or large hand routers. You get a box to protect it, which is useful since a simple drop is going to dent the tip if there is no protection.Shaft is ultra smooth and well machined. The diameter is engraved on it via laser. The single flute is reasonably sharp, not razor sharp, but the tip is absolutely vicious. No nano-coating or the like, just straightforward carbide.

This single-flute bit is an interesting design. From a distance it looks like a "chip breaker" but the sharp edges are smooth. But the bit does seem to stay cooler than normal when cutting my 3/4 cabinet-grade plywood than others, so I'm guessing that the "unround" design actually is giving the chips a chance to fly and reduce friction.

I mostly machine wood, plastic, and aluminum on a jig borer that I often use as a light weight vertical mill. This is my first time using a single flute end mill. It is convenient for boring, something I did not think of before. Quality is excellent. Cutting efficiency likely exceeds my ability and equipment, since I do not have a motorized feed on any axis. Now if I do not have any hold down issues, the end mill should last a long time.

I made a test cut with this and it worked well, nice and sharp. Good value.
