Winter is when I really like to bake bread. I love the heat and steam produced and the scrumptious smell that permeates my house when baking. What I don't love is trying to gauge the perfect time to feed my starter based on the cooler temperatures in my house. This warmer allows me to speed that process up to the same time it takes to be active and bubbly when I bake in the summer. This warmer is a perfect size! It's nearly the same dimensions as my food scale, so very compact and easy to store. I only wish I'd found this warmer years ago!

The sourdough starter warmer is very helpful especially for me because our old house can be pretty cold in the winter. I have been struggling to keep my starter warm enough to ferment and so far this has been helping quite a bit with keeping the temperature consistent. The warmer is pretty easy to use for the most part just have to keep in mind that the temperature showing is not the actual temp and there is a 15 degree difference. Overall I really like the product and have found it very helpful.

Love this! I used it to proof my regular dough, ferment my sourdough and feed my starter! My kitchen gets pretty cool when I'm not in it especially at night and this kept everything above room temp so it definitely helps! Especially for speeding up my sourdough starter so it was ready when I wanted and I didn't have to wait! I still need to mess around with the settings and see everything I can do but just turning it on and throwing whatever on has worked great so far!

Not the best design -- it looks a bit retro -- but the tool is well made, easy and intuitive to operate. It keeps the temperature well and I like that it can adjust heating as needed to compensate for ambient temperature fluctuations.I only found two downsides: First, indicator digits are tiny and hard to read. Amazon listings offer two designs for this product - this one and another with larger digits and more convenienly spaced buttons. I like the other design better.Second, limited programmability. The longest timespan programmable on the timer is 12 hours. For some applications you need to maintain several days of constant temperature. Also, this product can only maintain one set temperature, you cannot configure it to change temperature over time as needed.
