Very good, ideal replacement/addition for Amazon own brand Denali drill which failed just after warranty expired. Have other Denali tools which I will replace with skil products when neccessary

This is a great drill, for the price . Not as strong as the Bosch 18 volt version but more useful than the Bosch . The Bosch 90 degree head being one piece with the chuck . Not as many rotations on the drill head attachments as the Bosch drill but good enough . This is a 3/8th drill chuck on the Skill where the Bosch has a 1/2” chuck. Really nice touch on the storage bag with the insert, way to go Skill .

Charging unit incredibly dangerous, plugged it in turned on the switch was a loud bang and a wisp of smoke will return the lot and buy a known brand.

Allow me to start by saying that I am a professional contractor, and have been at it for many years. In cordless tools I own: CRAFTSMAN, MAKITA, MILAUKEE, PORTER-CABLE, SKIL and have owned the full line of the old DEWALT 18V, and also FESTOOL, HITACHI, RYOBI and misc. others...I received the impact and the 1/2" drill: both work well. I like the variable power cycle settings on the impact. Battery life on these SKIL 20V are pretty good. I would say that these SKIL 20V tools are somewhat comparable to MILAUKEE. Also, the LED's on these two tools are bright -- brighter than other brands, and the LED can be activated seperatly by depressing a switch on the front of the gun.SKIL cordless tools are a good value FOR THE MONEY SPENT. There are better tools out there, but for a higher cost. These tools are a little high-end for the average homer owner/consumer, and a good fit for the working craftsman/construction worker.

UPDATE: the impact driver and the drill are great tools. The battery had a hard time fitting on to the charger and I mistakenly thought the charger was broken. The charger makes a loud fan noise and it immediately shuts off when not charging battery. It is a fast charger. I figured it out eventually. The tools when tested on a fully charged battery, works great. Powerful, light but it still sounds grinding.Previous: I got this set after reading the rave reviews however very disappointed. The charger DOA. The battery still had half of charge so I tried out the tool. Impact driver sounds wrong like metal grinding. Performance was fine but it was loud. It could not run the 1 inch spade bit into tree stump without bogged down. I didn’t have a chance to run the drill driver because battery ran out of charge.

After more than three decades of me trying to get my daughter interested in being handy with tools, she surprised me by explaining she wanted to be more self-sufficient. So I jumped at the chance to find the lightest-weight drill and impact set, plus a case full of assorted attachments to suit, and went with this as her Christmas gift. They are each a little heavy, but she is able to handle it safely and competently. And it gives me a chance to share some quality time with her, showing the techniques and methods I have accrued over 6 decades becoming an expert generalist to her which she readily understands. When she was a world-ranked paralympic archer I was her bow tuner, and she never wanted to learn the "how-to's" for tuning a recurve bow, and it gave me a way to share time with her as a coach as well, leading to a bronze medal in Beijing in 2008 for Team USA. SO if my 25-year old hammer drill or15-year old electric screw driver die I will gladly switch over to this brand. Funny that I'm hoping they DO DIE so I have the excuse. So yes, I would buy these again and she is delighted with their design and function.

Son de un tamaño compacto, tienen partes gomosas en el mango de sujeción y en los laterales. Que lo hacen cómodo al estar trabajando y le dan cierta protección al colocarlos sobre superficies. Son ligeros y compactos caben en cualquier parte para trabajar y transportarlos. Las luces del taladro y el atornillador son celdas LED de buena potencia no generan sombras al estar usandolos. Las celdas LED tienen 2 funciones muy prácticas baja y alta y dos temporizadores 10 segundos y se apaga y 10 minutos para usarlas como lámpara iluminan muy bien. El cargador es grande y tiene ventilador para disipar calor en la carga al retirar la batería cargada prácticamente está a temperatura ambiente no caliente no tibia. Se ven y sienten de muy buena calidad y funcionan excelente.
