This is a nicer looking option than ones I've found at big box stores. Easy to install and has worked well for a full year

This SINKINGDOM air switch solves all the problems that Insinkerator fails to solve with their air switch. It is water tight and doesn't allow water into the air tube. They also have a small drain that diverts any tiny bit of water that might get into it. (This drain is not visible on the countertop.)The Insinkerator air switch that I originally bought with my garbage disposal seemed to collect water and send it down the tube. It shorted out the power box and left us without the garbage disposal and the water filtration system that was also plugged into it for a week while we waited for a plumber (and the plumber's bill to replace the whole switch and power source). Don't let their famous brand name fool you!SINKINGDOM is a much better choice!

It has a solid all-metal button, and it looks good. The button has a quick, solid action. The switch has a long stem that fits my very thick counter and a stem nut with set screws for tight spaces. After replacing my defective switch with this one, I ordered a second switch to replace the functioning switch on my second disposer. If the threaded components had been deburred for a spin-on fit, this would be a five-star product.

Compared to the cheaper plastic air switches, this one is rock solid.100% full metal - including the push button. Pushes so smoothly and nicely. You do not need to shove your finger down a hole to try and get it to work. Looks amazing and has a brilliant finish. Highly recommend over the competitors.

Just after a year of not frequent use in our Boston condo, the original InSinkErator's air switch's plastic shaft broke and fell down into the hole.Because of the design of our remodeled condo and its lower cabinets, the placement of the air switch sunk into the countertop, and the placement of the garbage disposal, I would have needed a plumber to remove the garbage disposal just to have a chance of an extremely long armed person (which I'm not) install a new air switch. This replacement switch, however, as it is constructed of heavy brass (?) and not plastic, sits firmly and securely on the countertop, with the rubber gasket resting underneath. All I needed to do was to drop a string into the hole, attach the original air hose to the string and pull it up, and then attach the hose to this new air switch which I dropped into the hole from above, after attaching the on-off button. I wasn't able to reach in from below to reattach and screw in the brass tightening fitting -- but as I noted, this switch is so weighty (in a good way) that it operates fine. And I like the design of this particular model, with the raised vs. recessed button.I didn't need the included power switch since the air hose fits the existing InSinkErator one, but will save the new switch in case the original one would ever fail.I can tell from the original power switch that this on-off switch was an InSinkErator product, and I've had good experience with this company over the years -- but they really should upgrade their cheap plastic switch, especially since these will be a pain to replace in many kitchen configurations.

We moved in to our newly constructed home 3.5 years ago. I was disappointed that the originally installed air switch for the disposal failed so quickly. After removing it and looking at the design it was apparent that the thickness of the counter top pushed the attachment nut very near the bottom. With the original assembly being plastic the central tube failed via low cycle fatigue. Given that failure mode I wanted to replace the plastic with metal. I was very happy to find this item that is fully metal. It is also longer than the original plastic switch so there is plenty of thread engagement with the nut. Installation was easy and it works great. Well worth the money.
