Recently changed to a Spindle with an ER16 chuck, so I bought this set for compatibility so that I could switch End Mill sizes without having to switch collet sizes. Got it quickly the next day, thanks to Prime availability! Really like the look and feel of this set, the case, and really love the fact that my mills are now close to the same length which minimizes the Z re-zeroing time/movement with a size change. As a quick test, I used the 3/8" Mill to cut a 0.6mm grove through an 6061 Aluminum bar @ 125mm/s and 10K rpm, and it did a great job with lots of gorgeous slivers.Would definitely buy again. In fact, I'm almost certain I'll be buying a back-up set.

I'm cutting polycarbonate, and these work very well. When executing a climb cut, (and pushing on the work piece as an improvised form of backlash prevention), the resulting edge is smooth enough that I can't see or feel any irregularity at all -- it may as well be polished.These are too dull to cut aluminum or mild steel properly. I used a file to easily scratch a non-cutting surface. They appear not to be fully hardened.The cutting depth is not very deep. But no stars off for that, because it matches the picture and description.This is a very good set of starter cutters.

Not sure what others used these for but would not even cut through aluminum without a rough chattered cut. Save you money and buy quality bits.

A bargain priced set of 3/8" shank end mills. We use these cheap bits when experimenting on something new so we don't care off we break one. Once we get it dialed in, we switch to a high quality bit like Amana Spektra for a nice finish.
