It works, dual trigger shifters are better you know the ones that have one trigger for up and one for down. This is just single trigger, so there more stress on the one lever. Hopefully it holds up. Overall not bad, not great.

My grand-daughter broke her twist grip gear selector that never worked right, (even for my grip). I replaced that with this thumb lever action and she loves the ease of going from first to seventh and back again without feeling like she's twisting a rusty motorcycle grip. Tuning it was easy once the cable was sized and gear changes now are simple.

It’s a very simple and effective shifter. Installed it and dialed in the rear derailleur. It’s been clicking into each gear as it should.

This Shimano thumb shifter is simplicity at its finest - low profile sleek design, simple to install, extremely accurate, easy to use and maintain. Ive bought 4 shifters total (including two 6 speed versions) for different ebike builds - it's all I use. Great quality and affordable for anybody. Highly recommend.

Installed to replace a twist grip shifter on a steel mountain bike used about town for groceries and errands (with city tires). The thing shifts perfectly once it’s dialed in.If it breaks I’ll update the review, but I doubt there will be any problems because there isn’t much to go wrong with a thumbie.
