I liked the price; I'm sure, from the description that I bought the right toshifters. But when I had so much difficulty inserting the rear derailleur cable into the shifter I called a bike shop and was told 99% of the time, shifters come with the cables pre-installed. So now I know why it was so hard. The cable head is embedded deep within the shifter where all those 8 shift tabs are located (on a 24-speed). And apparently, the shifter must be dismantled to get to the spot. So that adds to the labor and negates the value of the low price of this item. And I missed the return window by 2 days! : ( Here's your helpful review...be smarter than me.HERE'S AN UPDATE: I contacted the company about my dilemma and they emailed some instructions and I was able to install the cable without difficulty. This company was very quick to respond and resolved my problem. I would buy from them again.

Did not like that you have to manipulate three different surfaces to do the up and down shifting and breaking instead of two surfaces like your upper grade integrated shifters and the fact they didn't even send cables with the shifters I've purchased inexpensive shifters for under $10 that at least provided the cable with the shifter shifting cables should come with new purchased shifters!

I love these “Brifters” (brake & shifters)! But you must set the bike up to use them. For me this is routine as I do my own bike maintenance. Just plopping them on and they worked terribly. Like any brifter would. If you can spend the time adjusting your cables, tensions, indexing, high and low limits for front and rear shifters, you will get good results. The brakes are easier to setup by comparison. Try the “Park Tools” Videos on YouTube - excellent instruction and correct. Or your local bike shop.

Installed these on my bike with a Shimano Altus groupset, honestly they work very well. I would make the white embossed L/R indicators smaller for a more sleek look.

These shifters worked great to convert my old late 90's Cannondale road bike from bar end shifters. I used a Shimano Claris rear derailleur and it shifts great. If you are wanting to upgrade an older road bike I recommend these as they are a great price compared to new Shimano or Sram shifters.

I found the installation very easy. The most challenging thing if any was making sure the leavers were level and that my Hand positions were comfortable once the screws were tightened.

I decided to convert my mid-90s Trek Multitrack 720 from touring bars with twist shifters to drop bars and brifters. These levers have been great! They work well with the Shimano components on my bike, installed easily and shift very reliably. The action is solid and precise. I am very happy with my purchase, and recommend these to anyone thinking about making that transition.

There is plenty of room to easily install both the brake and shifter cables. The anchor point for the brake cables is drilled for the old style mushroom cable ends. I had the scrounge around for them but they fit like a glove. I was very impressed with the product.

The rear shifter works exactly as intended and goes up and down all 8 gears as intended, however the front shifter is a different story. I though at first i was doing something wrong but the front shifter shifts up 3 times but only requires two clicks to drop down to the 1st gear. So it shifts up as though there were 4 gears but shifts down like there's only. NO fiddling and adjusting could get this front shifter to shift up and down the gears evenly.

Used this with Shimano Claris FD/RD combo. Easy to install, seem to be well built and work great. Tested for around 200 km so far and they performed flawlessly. Price was less than half compared to Shimano Claris brifters. Would recommend with no hesitation.
