Don't worry, salesman. I got in a bike accident and that's why I bought this. My brakes and handles broke off and I had to get new ones and found these. THEY WORK REALLY GOOD. Nice strong gripping and shifting works flawlessly.

Low cost, however they did have some minor damage to the cover due to shipment I believe, a little glue fixed the damage though. Overall happy with the shifters and brake handles.

I ordered two sets, first time, I got two lefts, then I got two rights. They work great, but you need to know how to calibrate the derailleur.

i love these - except the barrel adjusters are cheap aluminum. a very small amount of force will strip them or bend them out of shape. lubricate them upon opening and don't remove them from the shifter when doing so. should you swap them out before the inevitable happens , remeber that barrel adjusters are not one size fits all. i won't even be using them until they are replaced - the fine tuning will need to be done in the way I don't like doing it.

Needed to replace the twist shifters on my wife's hybrid and thought these would do the trick. Rear shifter went on easy and quick. Attempted to install the front shifter and found it was a rear shiftier. Apparently I received 2 rear shifters. The installed 1 works great. I am stuck since I cut the cable for the front shifter and can not re-install it. Check package before working on bicycle, lesson learned. Contacted seller and they refunded half and promised to send a front shifter. Great seller and easy to deal t.

I was upgrading my older mountain bike with the Shimano 200GS system on it, and this works almost perfect. The clamps and bolts fit perfectly on the handlebars and the thumb mechanisms operate firmly and smoothly, clicking into position succinctly from gear to gear. They are far better than the original units, which unfortunately failed.The rear 7-speed installation was a snap and after a simple cable tension adjustment, it worked perfectly across the entire range. The front one was more temperamental and required more tweaking to make it work. Ultimately, I got it to work, with just a slight amount of cage contact on the big ring. It's almost as though the cable range of motion on the shifter isn't compatible with the older Shimano crankset and rings. Otherwise the quality is excellent, especially for the price!One word of warning is regarding the brake cable adjuster barrels. These are very cheaply made, from soft aluminum, and with a plastic lock wheel on them. Together with the cable split, they can turn rough in the openings and may be very difficult to re-thread back in, if removed. I strongly recommend using a little grease on the threads to make them easier to turn by hand and prevent galling. Don't over-tighten that thumb wheel lock ring!
