Used these tips on each end of a homemade hiking/walking poles. I had a long shovel handle and decided to make it into a hiking pole. Sanded and stained the wood, braided a paracord handle and wrist strap. Put the tips on each end and used black electrical tape to secure. Works very well, finished pole is not too heavy and ends are well-protected. The tips can be replaced as needed. If necessary pole can be used to fend off critters, four legged or two legged.
