I was getting a P0411 error code, "Secondary Air Injection System Incorrect Flow Detected", on my e46 ZHP convertible. I replaced both the Secondary Air Pump and this Secondary Air Injection Check Valve. That appears to have solved the problem. I was aware that there were other possibilities causing the problem. But from a bit of research these appeared to be the most likely and are an easy DIY. $100 between the two parts seemed a reasonable enough gamble vs what I suspect would be a $600+ job if I took it to my BMW specialist mechanic, perhaps a great deal more if their solution was also, in fact, replacing these parts considering the parts cost would be much, much higher using BMW factory parts which they default to.
