This paddle is just what I expected. It has worked perfectly for kayaking in the Florida bay. I was concerned about the foam keeping my hands comfortable and it does. I’m sure there are paddles more sturdy for a higher price, but this one is perfect for my needs.

My wife has found this to be an excellent paddle for her. Not too long and a thinner grip with padding made it perfect. Comfortable and sturdy. Would buy it for small framed people with smaller grip.

By no means is this a 5-Star paddle. You put this up against an Aqua Bound or Werner, it will lose handily. However, I can honestly say that I haven't felt a better paddle in hand for $35. Ergonomics are good, blade geometry is good, blade stiffness is good, no flex or play in the shaft. All is great for a budget Rec paddle honestly.About 8yrs ago I sold my kayak and gear because of condo life. Had a great Necky and Aqua Bound Carbon/Fiberglass paddle and would paddle 20+ miles. Back in another Necky but since I'm doing two kayaks and two sets of gear, I've had to scale back a bit, and in reality, I don't see my wife getting into kayak at any level more than recreation. If she does, we'll make the necessary changes when we cross that bridge. Now I will say that if you're getting into kayaking, and plan on progressing because you're entering a community that is very active and have friends that are going out paddling weekly, get a decent kayak and get a decent paddle. You will thank yourself the first time you go out and the paddle is 20miles and you're dealing with currents, waves and wind. It makes a world of difference! Also, Necky is a good brand that has good ergonomics and boat geometry that tend to blur the lines between a rec boat and something more usable by an advanced paddler. In other words, people tend to not outgrow Necky kayaks as easily. Dagger, Wilderness Systems and such also make great kayaks, but I have found the hull designs found on the Necky's to be faster and they strike a good balance in stability and speed. Also, look at the secondary market first and do your research! Facebook and Craigslist are great options to find used kayaks locally at a fraction of their new prices! Google is your friend to find out information on the boats to aid in a purchasing decision. Chances are, if you're looking here for a paddle, and looking at this paddle, its because you're just getting into kayaking, and there's a good chance you don't even have a kayak yet! I say be honest with your goals and expectations. This is a very good rec paddle and probably an amazing backup paddle as well, but if you're planning on making this a regular hobby, you're going to want to spend more on a paddle.

Bought as a gift. Be while before it can be tested as our water will be froze for another few months. Looks good/durable for the price. Dimensions are as advertised. Color is close to pic. Dense foam hand grips are nice making the shaft approximately 1.25" diameter. Nicely designed drip rings.

It's okay. It's short and a little bit wobbly. The metal handle's tolerances aren't great and it feels like the paddle wobbles a little bit. The push-button feels like it is too small and the shafts fit into each other kind of loosely. I have a cheapo pelican paddle that fits together better than this. It's short. I know that I should have confirmed and converted the number but I wasn't thinking. It's only 213 cm long. I'm a 6ft guy in a single sit-in kayak and I get wet fairly often. The colour is great, and the foam handles feel great too. The rubber rings are very basic and I worry about their durability, but they serve their purpose. To sum up, I shouldn't have spent 60 bucks on a paddle that I would maybe pay 30 for. There's lots of other paddles on clearance right now around the shops and I wish I could return mine to get one. Unfortunately mine has already been in the water and used to push off rocks after getting beached.

Absolutely love this paddle, finally invested and bought a kayak instead of always renting so I wasn't sure what to get. This breaks down so easily and is strong enough to use to push off of the shore if need be. Beautiful colors and light enough to wear my 5 year old can take a turn paddling and actually get us somewhere. not disappointed at all. I'm 5'1" and everyone kept telling me I needed something shorter. not at all! glad I didn't listen.

I waited to review this paddle until I had used it enough to form a solid opinion on its worth. So far I have used the paddle in several lakes and on at least ten trips down the river in my kayak. There are no problems so far and no signs of breakage. No stress cracks in the blades and the grips are holding up great. It has three positions where it locks together to set your paddles at an angle if you prefer, I've always kept it straight. The little metal button that holds it together is still working just fine. As long as you clean it up and don't let it sit wet it should keep working. I've seen some complaints about broken blades, I've put this paddle through some pretty rough use and have yet to snap an end off of it. This is by no means a professional paddle, you wouldn't want to shoot any class 5 rapids with it, but for recreational paddling (fishing, lake use, flatwater) It does great and is well worth the price. Just don't expect it to hold your body weight trying to push off of rocks or the bank of the river.

I bought two, one for me and one for my husband. We like that the cushioned grip is not too spongy, just right for a good solid grip. The drip guard works well and is adjustable as is the 3 position paddle blades. Easy to customize to your paddling style. We find it cuts the water effortlessly and makes it easy to handle and track. This 84" paddle works well for my yak but too short for my husband's wider one. We decided to keep his as a spare and purchase the 96" orange for him to use. This price is unbeatable for such a fine quality paddle.

This is the first paddle I purchased when I was getting into kayaking and I didn't want to spend too much money on a paddle without really knowing what I was getting into or what to expect. I've used it for one season so far and it's been great! I've been primarily on rivers and lakes with less than class II rapids. I've definitely given it hell but it's performed really well. The only downside is sometimes I have to adjust my grip because the hand grips are placed a bit close so it can get uncomfortable if you keep your hands on the grips the entire time. All in all this a great beginner's paddle and it's a really cool color...if that matters to you!
