Its so hard to know how bits like these will hold up but these seem to be good quality and have some heft in your hand. I needed the ground rod driver for some snow poles around the driveway that didnt want to go into the cold earth and the bit held up fine for the 40 or so I drove in. Admittedly thats a pretty light duty test but I think this thing is going to hold up and its not the end of the world if I lose it in the dirt (some of the brand name ones sting a bit more when you lose them).Im not sure what the ideal use for the flat faced bit is, I think it might be nice if you had to tamp down a really small section of earth? Cant hurt to have in the drawer, none of my other SDS kits have included anything like this before.Its still a good value even if you're only using the ground rod driver.
