I found other purchase options whose equipment sold was very similar physically to this one. The price variation was more due to aspects other than the product directly.

This is the same as most of the other brands. it performs well for a $35 compass. i have had a few of these. i think one factory in china makes these and they get rebranded and sold for $85. Save your money and buy this one for half the cost

Doesn’t point to correct north unless held absolutely flat - would not be very useful while diving if you’re disoriented

It works okay on land but the second I got it underwater, the needle was all over the place. I messed with it for a while but it never got any better. I had to borrow someone else’s compass to do my training exercises and then, the next day, I wound up buying a Suunto which is an amazing product. I highly recommend going with one of those instead.

I guess if I had never used a Suunto S7 or S8 compass I would have thought this was a really nice one. Unfortunately it just can't hold a candle to it. So I opted to spend the extra money to buy the Suunto S8. I found it very difficult to read the degree markers when looking through the side of the compass. You almost had to hold it over your head in order to read it whereas with the Suunto you can just see it clear as day from straight on. I tried mounting it the high pressure hose for our supply pressure gauge and it was just awkward that's the best way I can describe it. It was just an awkward fit.

i needed inexpensive compasses to teach scuba with. These work just fine but don't have the same feeling of quality You get with other brand name compasses from major manufacturers.
