Step1
Remove Any Accessories Such As The Power Steering Pump, Alternator, And Air Conditioning Compressor So You Can Access The Timing Belt Cover

Step2
Remove The Distributor Cap If Your Vehicle Is Equipped With One

Step3
Determine If The Harmonic Balancer Pulley Needs To Be Removed To Remove The Timing Belt Cover

Step4
Remove The Bolts Or Screws Holding The Timing Cover In Place

Installation Notes

DISCONNECT THE NEGATIVE CABLE
Ensure You Have Your Radio Security Code Any Preset Radio Stations On A Piece Of Paper To Allow For Quick Resetting Once Repairs Are Made

REMOVE THE ALTERNATOR BELT
Loosen the nut, push on the alternator if necessary to loosen the belt, then remove the belt

MARKING AND ALIGNMENT
Before removing the old timing belt, mark the direction of rotation of the belt and the direction of the pulleys on the belt.

TENSIONER ADJUSTMENT
Over-tensioning can cause premature wear, while under-tensioning can cause slipping or belt failure.
